maxx Posted August 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2018 My head is spinning....what am I doing wrong? I've searched and searched but can't find any way to cancel cruise which I booked online. Help please, I'm sure it's simple but my senior brain is not coping. Thanks in advance.

Ken at the beach Posted August 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Call Royal to cancel, the website is broke. Broke implies that it’s fixable, we may be beyond that point.:D

cruzer_3 Posted August 5, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 5, 2018 I really don't thnk they want to "fix" it. With all the money they have, you’d think they should probably fix it. Haha.
maxx Posted August 5, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Point taken, trying to avoid the phone call but it's inevitable. Have to agree with website pain issues...Have decided to give MSC.a go next year. At least they have status match with other cruise lines.

Husky1987 Posted August 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2018 With all the money they have, you’d think they should probably fix it. Haha. Why would they? Most of the people who complain about Royal on these boards still cruise with them.
Ashland Posted August 5, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 5, 2018 I really don't thnk they want to "fix" it. They only "fix" something that's working well.
Alter Ego Posted August 5, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 5, 2018 I don’t know about Carnival, but Princess and NCL make you call too. I thought I read that Royal was the only one that allowed you to cancel online - but you know how everyone follows the each other... I assume that there must be some psychology behind it - people may think twice before they cancel? Plus, they will ask if you want to place your deposit on another cruise, etc.
molly361 Posted August 5, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 5, 2018 I don't think any of the previously available features uch as cancelling online, changing preferences etc are ever coming back

Biker19 Posted August 5, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 5, 2018 ... I assume that there must be some psychology behind it Of course, look at cable companies, they have a whole crew of nothing but "retention specialists" - you typically have to go through them to cancel. Biker, who wonders if RCI has a script for CSRs during the cancel process.
