Tonight we're off to Black Tartan Kitchen to enjoy the new December tasting menu.  It will be our temporary swan song at this awesome culinary venue.  We will definitely be in withdrawal.  Here is the menu.....

I have solved it.  The final answer is....Hope the Grinch hasn't ABSCONDED with your Christmas.  Photos to follow tomorrow.

Drought?   Are you not intending to indulge in lovely food and drink for the next few months, then?  You won't get much sympathy from me.

As they used to say years ago, pull the other one, it has got bells on.

Lola

The drought in this particular case is the absence of BTK in our lives!  Not the absence of delicious food in our lives! 😅

Yes,  I can see how you will  miss it.  Looks really wonderful, innovative and appetising.

Lola

While the food on Silversea seems to be mostly good lately, it will not be Black Tartan Kitchen good!  Like comparing apples to Buche de Noel! 😅

That tourtiere looks suspiciously like gussied-up poutine! 🙃

It was, in fact, a little pie.  😁  Served on a potato base with awesome gravy.  It would appear that Canucks like gravy on everything!  😅  So, I understand your comment! 😁

I was doing some seasonal shopping for my DW, and came across this bottle, which was pitched as a good price ($62US) for a great port, and which I bought.  As a former seafarer, I've always hewn to the old saw "A little port in every girl", a variant of "A little girl in every port".  I know the cooler has many sophisticated tipplers with far more expertise than I'll ever have.  I'm interested in your knowledgeable opinions - is this a decent bottle?  Can I expect a peck on the cheek?

I haven't had many of the Dow's (I just love Graham's tawny ports) but that bottle should be lovely!  Based on a quick search the price seems to be a good one.  Color me jealous  and pouring a glass of my favorite to make up for it.

Looks like you've already got a little girl in that port:  Senhora da Ribeira means Lady of the River 😀
