Well, those posts from Mysty and Zqtchas exactly sum up what makes the Cooler so worthwhile, don't they.  And, as Trulyblonde says, much more enjoyable than reading the news - and a great deal more uplifting.

Hi Lola,😀 Jackson Hole is in the state of WYOMING.......if you are looking on a map.

I had no idea you had a grandson living in Nashville. That is very cool😀

Yes, a cool cat.  His wife is from Nashville, and although he really specialises in playing  jazz, he has lots of gigs playing with various groups and one or two fairly well known (in Nashville) singers; but mostly of course country music or pop.  He is pretty popular; people enjoy his English accent of course, as well as his playing.

Hello Coolers!

So lovely to see such a lot of activity here!

Must admit to have occasionally been having a peep but have had some problems logging in…CC admin have been very helpful but it’s been my iPad at fault…..

Thanks to my daughter and SIL….they have this evening ‘tidied’ me up and it seems like we have lift off!

Hope my seat at the bar is still vacant and so looking forward to catching up once more….

Plenty of room here for you, Miss Sophia, so we will all move up just a little to make a space for you.  Being careful not to get too close, of course.  Don't want spouses getting jealous.

Wonderful photos, thanks for sharing! And that restaurant Dornans? That is where we are eating dinner one evening.

Oh fun!  There is an excellent wine store adjacent.   The small grocery store makes delicious sandwiches, and the gift shop has some cute tourist swag. I've never eaten at the Chucj wagon but its seems to be popular.

Well, not in the same position as the Lady from Bath, but similar perhaps?  Watching CNN with a nice glass of red (and of course a beautiful wife) and there is a segment about Prince William caught dancing in his booth at a Taylor Swift concert.  My personal feelings - I like to dance but I have never heard a woman say I am a good dancer.  Perhaps I've even heard worse.  Regardless, why can't the media just let the man have a good time?  Why is this news??

Besides, I think Ms Swift is quite talented.  I don't like all her songs but this video might be worth watching for her skeptics.  Interesting contrast to previous Christine & Queens... even if I find her outfit ridiculous

Good Morning!

I think it’s news because there’s been a fair outflow of sympathy for William lately.

First the loss of his grandmother, then the shenanigans with Harry.  They were extraordinarily close and it seems to many that he was relying on his younger brother for  fellowship through what lays ahead for him and presumably that’s already a deep wound, but then particularly the campaign that Harry and Megs has been mounting to hurt the Royals.  That will be a very deep wound.  A betrayal.  And they never directly complain or explain.

Then there was his father’s cancer and now his wife’s.

I think the British public feel for him and think he is doing a stoic job and there is a growing respect and affection for him and they feel more confident now that when the time comes he’ll make a great and modern King.

I think the publicity is because I think most Brits just like to see him happy and escape for a while.

Good Afternoon All….

Well said Jeff….the picture of William and the children having fun was heartwarming…sadly they can’t go anywhere in public and escape the media…but that’s the nature of the job which he’s doing superbly well under the current circumstances.

Lazy Sunday here, I’ve ordered lunch in from one of our local restaurants…my excuse being that l forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer 😉

Have a great lunch S!

I do so hope the chicken was dead when you put it in the freezer.  😄

I shop for deliveries for Monday and Thursdays and like to have one unplanned meal twice a week.  I hate feeling imprisoned by the fridge and freezer and when you over plan it can feel so tight.

So today is going to be very thin crispy streaky bacon and chip sandwiches with Heinz ketchup.

In brown bread to make it a healthy dish! 😉

There’s nothing wrong with the IC!

If you return you might want to have a glance at The Pullman Quay Grand suites on Circular on the way to  the Opera House. We use to stay there when we use to come to Sydney for a bit of January/February walking for three or four weeks.  It’s a stunning location and it’s great to have so much space.  They do a great breakfast with a very good view and it was great to get evening food deliveries to eat on the balcony.  In the early days we use to negotiate decent rates for an extended stay.

It’s great to sit on that balcony and watch the world go by and dart down in the lift when you see your Manly ferry arrive.   I have a thing about balconies don’t I?!  🙂

Home sweet home! We arrived here about 10:30 after 30+ hours of travel. We stayed overnight at JFK last night - the TWA hotel is pretty cool and we're definitely looking forward to staying there again. After two nights on airplanes, the real bed felt so nice.

It's also hot and humid here but we cranked the AC. I'm trying to get the energy to go grocery shopping but so far it isn't happening. Maybe I'll just finish the bottle of lunch wine and put in an order from Instacart instead.

Oh dear,

My eatings and drinkings today are comparatively unimpressive but in mitigation at least entirely by my own hand.

Sunday lunch was bacon and chip sandwiches with Sarsons followed  by afternoon coffee with choux and Seven Tails Brandy.

The brandy was new because I wanted something really good between over fiddled and characterless cognac and overly cheap and robust Spanish brandy and as it happened this was it. It is wonderful and I have vowed to drink more.  Tonight will be the last of the chicken soup.

A lovely day at home with #1 wife!
