Assuming that you are talking about the Breakaway,,,, as soon as you get past security, there will be a Haven's check-in banner-up and private check-in room.

You'll check-in there. Every few minutes, they will escort group up to the Haven waiting area in the terminal (a separate seating area between Terminal B and C. On the way to the waiting area, you can ask to stop to take an embarkation photo for your scrap book. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=55838661&postcount=14

Once the ship is cleared for boarding, you will be escorted from the waiting area to ship's security the swipe your room key and they it is up the gangway! You will be escorted to the Haven lounge on the ship. The concierge and their staff will be there to give you an overview and help with reservations.

The Haven restaurant will open at noon. On most big ships, Haven guests are also given the option of eating at Margaritaville (for free) on embarkation day, only.

We were not impressed with the Haven experience in Miami at all. Better in Port Canaveral and New York. In Miami, when they take you up to the terminal, it is a separate area, but no one monitors it. So hundreds of people crowd into the area to help themselves to the free coffee, juice, and snacks. A server would come out with a tray, and people would swarm in, picking up the pound cake with their hands, grabbing a half dozen pieces, then leaving the area. Trays were empty in about two minutes. We were so turned off, they was no way we were touching the food. Overall the Haven experience on the Getaway was a little disappointing compared to other ships, and it started in Miami terminal.

The Haven experience in Miami is not that different than any other boarding. Anyone can and does come into the waiting area and helps themselves to the food and drinks. You get escorted onto the ship, sometimes before the others sometimes as others are boarding. Sure you get to avoid the checkin line, but often people who go through the regular line are upstairs faster than those who are in the Haven area. There really isn't enough shore side staff.

We've never seen that at other ports if that is what you mean. The Haven lounge areas are pretty well restricted access wise. Haven't boarded in Miami though.

Until they finish the new terminal in Miami it is wide open.

We’ve sailed the Haven from Miami 3 times and it’s has always been a quick, pleasant experience.

A couple of nice folks monitoring the entrance on 2/17/18(Hi Tracey!)

Wow, it did not look like this in May. People in every seat and in every seat in the surrounding area, people sitting on the floor, no one monitoring the area. I should have taken a pic.

I sailed a week after you in the Haven out of Miami. It was 2 sterile, tiny doctors office like waiting rooms near the front entrance with no windows. We sat for a while and went through a pretty long escort, as they try and escort so many people. Other guests were already boarding at this point (we were there before any boarding). Then a long and pointless welcome ceremony in the Haven, which I would skip next time. The Haven left a lot to be desired on the first day, that's for sure. It didn't feel any more exclusive or special than just showing up and boarding with a regular cabin. Maybe a little more annoying having to go through the Haven escort nonsense, actually.

Just got back and having never sailed NCL or Haven before, don't have anything to compare it to, but I agree with the above posters. We got there at 10:15. There was a sign saying Haven check in right when you walk through the door, to the left, it was a very small room and very crowded, no one really said what to do when we got in, couldn't tell if there was a line or where the line was. We were given the health form to fill out then gave that to the ladies at the desk. There was a trainee who didn't really know what she was doing so it took a long time. There was a huge urn of coffee but it seemed to be empty as no one could get coffee to come out. Finally someone came in to refill the pastries and we asked him for coffee, he jiggled something and the coffee was able to come out. I didn't notice anyone who didn't seem to belong to come into the room, but it was pretty crowded.

Once we got our key cards, we were told to go across the way, to another room, but that room wasn't labeled Haven and there was no one in that room so we weren't sure we were in the right place. We went in there, there was just one NCL employee in there, and he said we just wait and someone will escort us to the waiting area. We waited a few minutes and another couple came in, then the escort came and was going to wait for more people but then just took us up. It was fun walking past all those other people who were checking in, but I wonder if it was any quicker, because we were in the check in room quite a while, it seemed.

Same ultra luxury experience we had, lol.
