PhillyFan33579 Posted September 13, 2018 #26 Share Posted September 13, 2018 We received NO OBC.:confused: Booked ES months ago. :( I have always booked ES rates on a cruise or now within 2 weeks of a cruise. Wasn’t even thinking that you can also book an ES rate at other times without on OBC offer.
Rare jimbo5544 Posted September 13, 2018 #27 Share Posted September 13, 2018 ES rates always include a minimum $50 OBC these days, so you still lose $50 per person when you change your cruise. Ummmm no they do not always include obc Sent from my iPhone using Forums
azpilot Posted September 13, 2018 #28 Share Posted September 13, 2018 The only time I have been able to switch a cruise and not get a a penalty for it is when they canceled my Feb 2019 cruise due to booking the ship out to a private party. As soon as I found out about it I called and said I didn't want to cancel and I wanted the cruise the week before that was the same but different ship. Took them a bit of time to figure it out but they moved me to that cruise with the original price I paid and no penalty for it.

PhillyFan33579 Posted September 13, 2018 #31 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Sorry did not get that far. My bad Sent from my iPhone using Forums No big deal. I have only booked cruises on ships, or more recently within 2 weeks of a cruise, for years now so I was thinking based on my personal experience. Wasn't thinking at the time that there are plenty of different ways to book a cruise. And I am clueless about casino related fares. For some reason betting a maximum of $25 per cruise doesn't get you anything.

Right there with you on the gambling front. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
CalaDragonflyLady Posted September 13, 2018 #33 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I have switched from a cruise without the $50 OBC to one with. Obviously it doesn't always work out that way.
Crusin Karen Posted September 14, 2018 Author #34 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Thanks again for all the info and insights too. I am going to have to rethink all this because in the meantime, the rates for the cruise I was thinking of switching to went UP. I think it was a one day "sale." Anyway, one more question: I check my cruise rates a few times/day for price drops. Past week my cruise has not showed up. Does this mean it's booked? There are times when they reach an occupancy limit and will not show on the booking engine. Without going back thru, are you inside final payment? cruising maniac Posted September 14, 2018 #37 Share Posted September 14, 2018 I was able to sweet talk them into only charging the $50 for one of us since we basically transferred to another ship. Give it a try.
Rare jimbo5544 Posted September 14, 2018 #38 Share Posted September 14, 2018 No, final payment is 10/8. This is a January Journeys cruise. Journeys cruises def could be sold out. I can check the TA booking engine later if you want.

If you have nothing else to do, SURE! lol. Just wondered why it hasn't shown up. Amazing it sold out so fast. My family and friends who are "non cruisers" always wonder why I book cruises so far in advance. There is reason #1 Reason #2 is that I was able to book a cabin exactly where I want it!
