Rare BillOh Posted September 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2018 I guess I’ll forever be 5 for 5 making it to the island. I’ll post pictures in a few days, but I’d guess a completed pier in early 2019 is possible. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Clarea Posted September 20, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 20, 2018 The latest from Bob (authoritative source) was January 2019. I should have mentioned that I had no first hand authoritative info, I just repeated another post that had a quote from a ship's officer.

LrgPizza Posted September 20, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 20, 2018 We missed Castaway Cay on DCL 2 out of 3 cruises despite it having a pier. Those who think having a pier will guarantee they make it to CocoCay are misinformed.
MrsPhoenix91 Posted September 20, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 20, 2018 Personally, we are looking forward to tendering to an island (we have yet to experience this). And if we don't this year, no big deal;)

I don't think there is a port in the world that hasn't been missed by some ship sometimes..

Rare Rewind Posted September 20, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 20, 2018 Hi Bill, How do you like the Enchantment? She was my first Vision class and her expansion really makes the ship feel larger. Rhapsody earlier this year just felt tiny.
Pratique Posted September 20, 2018 #15 Share Posted September 20, 2018 Very few piers are unprotected though. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk Not to mention that the channel is fairly narrow, not allowing much room for error. Notwithstanding that, as I always say, where there is a will there is a way. That was the point I was making to the OP who thinks they’re going to make the port because of the new pier. I’m pointing out that isn’t the case. Havingfun2010 Posted September 20, 2018 #18 Share Posted September 20, 2018 Have there been reports of delays? It was my understanding that the target was early 2019, like January or February. The target was September, this month, to be finished. Than it was November, now it is January. My guess it will be done by June 2020.....

And if we don't this year, no big deal;) Your not missing anything exciting. It makes port days much more hectic and tendering can be very time consuming. When we stopped at Bar Harbor it added well over an hour getting ashore and closer to 2 getting back because 4,000 passengers are all trying to get back on board at the same time. Can't comment of Coco Cay as we are one of the one's that missed that stop.
