Today's journey got started sorta late as my excursion time was not until 10:30. I was headed off on my own while the girls enjoyed A day on the boat. We headed to the MDR for bfast.

 

 

We chose the standard meal vs the buffet; however, our waiter told us we could go to buffet and order off of the menu. We elected to just do the menu.

 

 

While eating I realized I left my excursion card in the room. Bummer. Another quarter mile walk to the room before I get off the boat.

 

Our previous trip in April we ported at Mahogany Bay, so I was anxious to get off the boat and check out the port.

 

I floated around a short while then met up for the excursion.

The excursion description said 6 passengers max but when we met up there was 7 of us. No biggie. We all made our intros and got ready to fish.

 

Our excursion was deep sea fishing out of Turquoise Bay Resort. The charter was run by Subway Watersports. It seemed like a legit operation.

The ride was about 30 mins from the port. After we got all signed in they took us to the dock and loaded us up on one of their diving boats. No issues with room on this boy. The trip came with an all you could drink assortment of beer and water.

One thing that I like about fishing down there is the term deep sea fishing is relative. We were not even a mile off shore and were at the drop off.

 

 

That is much much better than the 40-50 mile run we have to make off the GA coast.

The bite was slow this day. We boated 4 and had 1 LDR that jumped off before we could put eyes on it.

 

The day before they got into em better. Fishery did not have time to recover I guess.

 

Being that the bite was so slow the Capt kept us out a little extra time hoping to get a few more before we left.

 

By the numbers we scored big time. The sister boat only hooked up once. But hey, it's called fishing not catching. We all had good laughs and when you sit back and think about it you are in Honduras Deep Sea Fishing. Not too shabby in my book.

As we were finishing up our meal the crew brought out our catch that was freshly prepared at the dock.

Now I have spent all day as the odd man out as the other fishermen(women) were all coupled up. It's time to get back to my ladies!

 

So what did the girls do without me to lead them. Yep yep yep. They sat in the room missing me.

I think they did just fine without me.

 

I am starting to believe that you should always choose one port to hang out on the boat and enjoy it while the masses go off on excursions. It is getting much easier to do now that most ports are repeat destinations.

When I made it back to the boat they were just settling down in the room. The little one wanted to catch up on her internet time so mama and I took a lazy stroll.

 

Where did we end up???

 

You know it. I had 3 more dogs to try.

The dogs today were the sicilian, smokehouse, and Big Apple(chicken)

 

Overall I was underwhelmed by the entire Doghouse experience. I just could not get into the dogs.

As I am sitting there not enjoying the dogs I get a hair to book Sabor for dinner tonight.

 

Could it be I was staring at this the entire time?

 

We walk over and book a late reservation then head back to the room.

 

After we get dressed we head out for a character meet and greet.

Sabor -

 

I'm gonna give the the "Most Surprisingly Good" award.

 

I wasn't expecting much out of this place as Mexican is Mexican to me but boy was I wrong.

 

Let's start right here.

 

See that green yucky stuff on the left? Yes we as a family absolutely despise it as we have NEVER found a place that could make it palatable.

 

The buck stops here. SO So so tasty. And it was not mushy. It had body. We were spooning it by the mouthfull with the chips. This is a major win for them. They changed the minds of an entire family with that palate pleasing necture.

Up next was this plate of deliciousness!

This gets the "Best I've Ever Had Period" award.

 

Never have I ever tasted Calamari so tender and flavorful. Melt In Your Mouth is the only way to describe it.

 

The remainder of the meal was exceptional as well just those two dishes stood out front and center.

I will also give Sabor the "Best Bang For Your Buck" award. Good food, large quantity, and easy on the pocket. The price is lower than a meal using the best meal package.

 

Next time I'm onboard I will try the guacamole making class. Yes it was that good.

 

I must say this spot was highly under utilized. Always empty when we walked by. Only 2 other families dining when we were eating.

After dinner we went to the Ice Games show in Studio B. The show was nice but not as enjoyable due to the location of our seats. If you go get there early and pick a seat close to the entrance.

Now get this. We are 71.4% through our cruise and have yet to hit the arcade. That shows you how much other stuff there is to do on this boat.

 

If you follow my other blogs you would know that this is one of the highlights for lil bits each cruise. Any other time this would not be an issue except I purchased a pre paid arcade credit for her. Use it or lose it!

 

So after the show we went up to the arcade on deck 15.

The choices were limited so we headed down to the arcade at kid's club. Even more limited [emoji35]

 

Following this stop we wrapped it up for the evening.

 

But not before we dove into our desserts we didn't have room for at Sabor!
