TrixiePixie Posted October 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2018 Does anyone have any info on public tranfer from Heathrow to Southampton which makes a stop at Stonehenge?
Heidi13 Posted October 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2018 Check the National Express bus schedules. I expect you could find a bus from LHR to Amesbury. Stonehenge Visitor Centre is about 2 to 3 miles from Amesbury. The rocks are just over a mile from the visitor centre, but they provide free buses to/from the centre. You would then need to return to Amesbury to catch a bus to Southampton. Cost effective, but many hours of travel after a long flight. Might want to consider hiring a car or a limo. Do you have a hotel you can recommend If you look on the Great Britain board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/ There are many threads on hotels, plus tons of info related to staying in the area, plus lots of expertise. You need to determine your budget, and how close to the sights you want to stay. We have stayed at the Conrad, which is pretty much in the middle of Buckingham Palace, Westminster, many of the other major sites.
