LetsTango Posted October 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2018 I found this gadget attached to the tv in my Carnival Breeze cabin. I hope it's not a camera!

Rare Essiesmom Posted October 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2018 Was this in an accessible cabin, or why are you posting on the disabled board? EM
LetsTango Posted October 28, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted October 28, 2018 I am disabled but our cabin was not accessible. But from my viewpoint I caught a glimpse of this gadget taped near the bottom of the tv. Any idea what it is?
OVgirl Posted October 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 28, 2018 Can I suggest that you repost this on the 'Ask a Cruise Question" board. You're bound to get a lot more answers there.
GUT2407 Posted October 28, 2018 #6 Share Posted October 28, 2018 Looks like a remote control receiver to me.

jlp20 Posted October 29, 2018 #8 Share Posted October 29, 2018 The problem is "we" can't see what it was connected to. My question is, did you bother to ask steward or security?
LetsTango Posted October 29, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted October 29, 2018 I did not ask our steward or security. We were traveling with my sister & her husband who was a homicide detective & I asked him what it was. He thought it was a part of the remote control system but I'm a bit more suspicious. Davey Wavey Posted November 1, 2018 #11 Share Posted November 1, 2018 That is an infrared blaster. You will find it attached to the IR window on a TV or cable box. Do internet search for pictures and more info.
ProgRockCruiser Posted November 1, 2018 #12 Share Posted November 1, 2018 It's a camera. I now have all of the photos. Send your money to: Old Pink The Funny Farm, Chalfont I keed, I keed. It is an IR blaster/receiver for your TV. Bonus points to anyone who gets my reference. 1
mackenzie80 Posted November 5, 2018 #13 Share Posted November 5, 2018 This is a IR receiver. Many hotels/cruise lines use it to make all tv's uniformly work for remotes. It is not a camera.

HawkIVette Posted November 5, 2018 #17 Share Posted November 5, 2018 (edited) It's a camera. I installed one on a cruise last month. Here's a picture of what I got sent to me from that cruise. And another one from the next cruise. Edited November 5, 2018 by HawkIVette
HawkIVette Posted November 5, 2018 #18 Share Posted November 5, 2018 I found this hanging from my ceiling one night. I thought it was a camera too, so I threw it overboard off my balcony. 1

AnonomissX Posted November 13, 2018 #25 Share Posted November 13, 2018 Thanks for almost making me splash my Monster energy drink on the screen! However, OP, that is an "IR" blaster receiver, ie Infrared receiver for a TV remote control.
