Would it have been possible to sail the cruise that ended yesterday, then stay on board to take the first one out of Miami?  No problem getting a deck chair I bet.

That would have been fun, but this was what I believe is called a dead-stick move with no passengers on board, since they were going from Fort Lauderdale to Miami.

Nope. It would have violated the PVSA.

You would have had to get off in FLL and travel down to MIA to do that.

So how long did it take to get from FLL to Miami? Curious because I am boarding Allure May 5 when she returns toFLL after dropping off passengers in Miami.

I believe she pulled away from the pier in Port Everglades around 11am or so and arrived pierside into Miami around 3:15pm.

Why did the Allure change sides only a few hours after she arrived in MIA?  Thanks.

Easier to leave tomorrow from port. She went straight to pier today to keep the traffic clear of the ship channel. It took her nearly an hour this afternoon to maneuver from Terminal A and back.

Why is Adventure of the Seas in Miami now next to Allure?  It's like it followed the Allure in.

Edit: PTZtv Camera:  Allure in the middle, Adventure just to the left of it.

Maybe a medical emergency?   It left Port Everglades this afternoon for a 6 night Western cruise.

dunno

but I'll guess that this being a new berth they wanted to check alignments for gangways etc from both sides ..... as a mariner I'd say this would be prudent .......

a 'dry run' for both parking possibilities ......

I can come up with other reasons .... but this would top my list.

She is too big for the downtown turning basin and will alwyas turn in the basin at Fisher Island where big container ships turn. Same for Symphony.

And yet she turned at the downtown turning basin....
