Order of Debarkation

Ok, I would like a clarification on order of Debarkation.

 

We are staying in a Suite.  I understand that gives priority Debarkation.  We have done this before with no problem.  But this time we will not be taking our luggage with us when we leave the ship.  We will be placing our luggage in the hallway the night before.

 

Question.  Do ALL self assist guests leave the ship before Suite guests? Said another way, will we have to wait for all self assist guests (which I assume are the majority) to Debark before our priority debark room is called?

Yes, self assist goes first. Usually it is not the majority of the cruisers.

If you put your luggage out, you will need to wait to be called since your luggage will not be immediately available and they do not encourage people waiting in the terminal for luggage to appear.

Correct. Self assist goes first because there is no luggage handling involved. You should have #1 luggage tags, so you would be the next to leave.

Suites have priority debarkation.

There will be a letter in your cabin telling you where to meet in the AM.

They will lead the folks off first(Diamond, Platinum , FTTF and suites who have carried off their own luggage.

THEN they come back to lead off the folks who put out their luggage the night before.

At that point I don't know if the normal self assist people are also leaving the ship?

They do have to wait until luggage is down in the landing area.

I am not sure why you wouldn't try to carry the luggage off yourself which would make it MUCH easier to leave the ship in a timely fashion.

self assist leaves first before any category that puts luggage out the night before, this is true on every cruse line I have cruised on.  now it you are in as suite and want to walk off most concierges  will ensure you are at the head of that line.

Most ships start letting general self assist off as soon as Priority self assist begins.  One CD kept announcing "Everyone using self assist could leave whenever they wanted " which created chaos.

Where would early flights fit in? I'm cruising out of Tampa with an 11:45am return. I could take the Canrival shuttle if I wanted but if self assist goes before anyone and suites before early transfers then I may just self assist and cab it to the airport.

 

The last cruise I was on only 1 customs agent showed up. Our number was 2 with a suite and we didn't debark until almost 10.

On the Breeze they put the early flights, flights departing before 12pm, in with the FTTF self assists and we were the first group escorted off the ship.

Anyone been on Horizon for self assist? Curious if it will be difficult getting an elevator to go down.  Was on Dream last May and that self assist was a nightmare getting one. Everytime one would open it would be full from people coming from decks that weren't even called yet.

If you have priority, you will be able to debark as soon as your luggage is available in the port.  As someone has said before, they will come to the priority waiting area to let you know when the luggage is ready.  In my past experience that is usually before all the self assist is completed.
