I'm set to travel on the 18th and I'm online looking at prepays...I just went to check the Ultimate Arcade Package everyone is talking about for my son and daughter and I see they will allow me to pay for just my kids, BUT they are charging $161 dollars for the week each?! What happened to the $8 per day pre boarding cost ($56)? This is $23 dollars a day. Does anyone know what happened? This wasn't the cost a week ago...

Some have reported being able to add it themselves for just the guest intended at the $8 day/$56 week cost.  Some report the system will only allow them to add the cost for all guests in the cabin.  Others have had to go through their PCC to override the all guests per cabin feature (this was my experience in September) and still others have had it added at embarkation.  Success varies.

I suggest making a call to NCL and verifying that the price you are seeing is actually per person, and not per cabin.

I called and the rep told me that's what it said on their screen to wait till I board..she wasn't much help so I'll call again and ask another one. But it clearly gives the option to select who will be using the arcade card and says it's $161 each so if you buy two it's over $300?!

No need to buy two...  The old way required everyone in a cabin to buy so you couldn't "cheat" and share...  Now only one person has to buy so everyone can share the same swipes..  The limit is three swipes every three minutes.

Not anymore, I just confirmed..price has increased. It's $161 per person, you can choose how many people and it will go right on the person's room key so sharing is difficult unless you are together.

Truthfully there is not much at all in the arcade to draw any amount of long term use.  Most would get bored and over it in about 15 minutes of play tops.

I think you're right. My eldest is not really an arcade junkie, I think it was a perk to have but $161 is steep for an arcade for a week.

yep, just confirmed. The charge up was a bit much though for an arcade..you'd have to be together to "cheat", it only goes on one room card.

Ridiculous price for the arcade. I just want to play skee ball a couple of times, ill just pay as I go

I thought I read on another thread (I may be wrong or the person who posted it could be wrong) that skee ball wasn't included in the package if you were to purchase the package.  I'm sure there is someone out there who knows if this is correct or not.

Skee ball wasn't included anyway, so you aren't missing out.

Edit: Can confirm. I had the arcade pass on the Escape 10/14 sailing and skee ball was not included.

JamieLogical were the games in The Local (pool and darts) included?  I purchased for my girls prior to the price increase, now I feel like we got a great deal!

Yes. Pool, darts, air hockey, and basketball were all included. The only games that aren't included are those that award tickets or prizes. (Skee ball awards tickets.)

I am seeing this price as well, and it's per person, not per cabin.

I was just looking at it on ncl.com and it's $161 pp for our Getaway cruise in 1 week.

It's ridiculous. $23 pp per day?

The price is really too much. For our 11 day cruise it's still $161, so that's almost $15/day. We've thought about getting just 1 for the 2 of us, most of the time we are together. I sometimes will nap or go to the casino so hubby could use it on his own then. Still, we have 7 ports, we plan on getting off of the ship in 6 of those. I know on past cruises we haven't used the arcade, so we can live without it.

The price is per person, but it is shareable now.  But even if my SO and I only bought one pass for both of us to share, it's still $49 more than it cost us to both get the Arcade Pass for our Escape sailing in October. On that sailing, we felt like we probably just about broke even or came out a little behind than if we had just paid per swipe. However, we both agreed that the convenience of pre-paying an "not having to think about it" every time we swiped had value. I don't think it has $49-worth of value though, so we won't be getting the package for our upcoming sailing on the Bliss in February. If we decide to play some darts and Mario Kart in the Local after breakfast every morning, we will just pay per swipe.

Thermal suite was $89 pp > now $249pp

Prohibition was $9.95 > now $35pp

Buffet's was included, then a la carte, now $15pp.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

My special needs son got the UAP for $56, just before the small price increase.

Andrew and Frank just put in an order for SIX new ships at One Billion $$$ each.

Somebody has to keep the bankers happy...

Watching the weekly price increases is sort of like watching our 401K's getting killed. Lol

That being said we had a fantastic time on the Bliss!

Will post pics and review soon.

Lord, this is going to be a long shot.

Does anyone know if Mario Kart is on the Breakaway? I already know it’s on the Escape. On Escape it’s by the bowling etc, not the arcade proper.

Second question, would the UAP cover those games outside the Arcade?

I was on the Breakaway in January and there was no mariokart. There were two Fast and Furious driving games in O’Sheehans that were included as were a number of other games in that area. Only bowling and deal or no deal were not included IIRC.

Thanks for the quick and informative response!
