Hi all,

Can someone please let me know where I can find a lit of the guest speakers that will be on QE next year? In particular cruise Q912D. I do enjoy the speakers and have had Jenny Bond on QV and it was certainly a highlight.

Many thanks

Here's a direct link to the current pdf document of guest lecturers for QE which does include most of 2019.

https://www.cunard.com/Documents/Enrichment/QE-insights-2018-v2.pdf

The Cunard speaker list documents normally only include voyages without letter suffixes, so as majortom10 indicated, this document shows speakers for voyage Q912 but not Q912D. Voyage Q912 is Melbourne to Yokohama (from March 30 to April 19) while your voyage Q912D is just two days shorter, Sydney to Yokohama (April 1 to April 19). No way of knowing for sure, but I would think most of the speakers listed for Q912 would also apply to Q912D. And as Summergee mentioned, changes do occur. That said, here is what is currently listed in the document as the speakers for voyage Q912.

Jonathan Haslam - John Major’s No. 10 Director of Communications

Ian Perry - Reef Pilot

George McGhee - Film Entertainment Historian

BlueMarble- On future voyages with only one speaker listed, are more added as we get closer to the trip? Thanks! 😊

Yes, subsequent updates to the posted speaker documents will often show additional speakers added to some of the voyages. There have also been quite a few cases where the full complement of speakers isn't ever listed and you don't find out until you are actually on board the ship. And there have also been quite a few cases where one or two of the speakers actually on board are different from what was listed in the documents.

Many, many thanks for this information, it is greatly appreciated. Will look forward to all or one of these speakers. Ian Perry will probable definitely be on board as when we travel thru the Torres Strait they usually have a commentary which is very interesting. Thanks again.

You should never take as a guarantee that any guest speaker even on the list will be definitely on your cruise. On our cruise last year on QE one gentleman was on the list and was looking forward to listening to him but he never appeared and there was never any explanation why. So things do change and get cancelled for a variety of reasons.

A while ago, one of the Queen Elizabeth speakers was left at the dock when he failed to return on time.  See thread:

Therefore, no guarantees as to speaker availability even if they ARE on the ship at the beginning of the trip.

Then of course there was the tragic case of Sir David Frost who was on board QE to give a talk but passed away not long after departure from Southampton. No guarantees indeed.
