Here is a new scenario at least for me with Royal Up.

Sailing is 5/27/22 Radiance of the Sea.  Cabin is a GTY balcony.  Placed bids back in March/April on Scenic Spacious Balcony, Sunset Spacious Balcony.  (that was name of category...have no idea other than they are some type of spacious).  Today I am 30 days out and my balcony GTY changes to an actual balcony room this am, (a fact I knew as I did the bar code trick).  About an hour ago I received the following email from Royalcaribbean.com with the subject matter stating "changes to your Royal Up request".  I thought wow, my bid was accepted?  I open the email and got this message "This email is to let you know that we’ve cancelled your requested RoyalUp upgrade due to a change in your reservation."  There was an "You now have the option to bid on more staterooms. To submit new bids, click here." So I just rebid with the same rooms as before.  Very odd.  I have a nice room now.  I would like one with a bigger balcony which is why I did these bids.  I wondered if anyone has seen this and if they were successful.  Of course I know its a crap shoot.

I am sailing on a different ship but every time there was a room change (assigned room, change to a less obstructed view, used OBC for fare difference for an Ocean View balcony, etc. they would cancel all of my Royal Up bids.).  I am doing a Dory - just keep bidding - just keep bidding... Good Luck!

Has anyone else received this two for one offer? Didn't see any previous posts about it. Booked a free casino balcony the other day and just received this:

I have never seen nor heard of this before, but it is awesome! I wish it would happen to me on my booked cabins sailing from Rome in June!  Enjoy!

I saw a previous report if the 2 for 1 offer, but I have not received it.  I wonder if they are offering it intermittently or on select sailings or to select types if parties (3+ guests might be good target).  I would not bid on the option on upcoming cruise; if DH wants a separate balcony on another deck, I’ll suggest he opt for a different ship while he’s at it😏

Just the two of us. Adventure nine-night sailing.

Hmm, might your neighbors or cabin stewards reported loud snoring or extreme restlessness on your previous cruises?  Just kidding, of course.

The 2for1 has not been reported very often; maybe RoyalUp is testing it out and gathering data.  It seems like it could be great for the right bidder.

yes.  I met someone who did this on my Adventure sailing.  And I had this option on my bids as well.

Yes, we also got this offer for our Adventure sailing at the end of March, upgrade to 2 JS. For the two of us, seemed kind of crazy. I decided I wanted a GS and just moved to an available one vs hoping for a Royal Up.

It would be interesting to know if the awarded 2nd balcony stateroom would be connecting or at least adjacent to the original stateroom...  @lovelife - is there anything about that when you click on "See Details" for this RoyalUP offer?

When a person shared details of the offer in the past, their details specified that the second cabin on a different deck from the original cabin.  Unless the details have changed, no promise the second cabin will be connecting, adjacent or even nearby…just same general type on the same ship.  That makes it easier for plusgrade to administer the offer, but at the same the offer would appeal to a much lower % of guests.

It certainly appeals to me 😅   I wish Plusgrade would offer that to me…I booked 2 connecting oceanviews for our June 20 Rhapsody sailing from Rome and no longer need to have connecting rooms and deck placement is not an issue either.    And now I see the Oceanview cabins are sold out.  I already have bids in for upgrade, 🤞🏻Crossed!

As a long time “Loyal to Royal” unfortunately  I was never visited by the “upgrade fairy” and am excited about the opportunity to bid for one. At least now I have hope!  😉

Yes.  Don't tell me that creates an issue.

Costco bookings cannot participate in RoyalUp. Costco opts out.

Well, just another reason I will be booking differently going forward.

Thank you.

So, you already have two OV cabins.  As I understand it, if hypothetically you won a two-for-one bid on one of those OV cabins, you’d gain another OV cabin do then have three OV cabins, one of which might be on another deck.  Depending on the number of people and their relationship, that might be useful…or not.

Yeah, one of the reasons we don’t book with them either. The cash card would be nice, but winning lower-bid RoyalUps has been fun.

No, it just states the normal:

No, your cabin location and attributes will depend on availability. RCI cannot guarantee a specific cabin number assignment within the upgraded category.

I just got a Royal Up email for our Med cruise in July.  That seems very early to me.  I thought this happens much closer to the sail date. Is that unusual?

I also got one for our July cruise. I got it with 72 days to sail and wondered what it was. Haha!   We are already in a Jr Suite. Not sure if the cost for 2 of us is worth it to bid. We will be on Vision.

Congrats!,

Maybe you got ours! Our RoyalUp for the 5/1 Oasis was accepted today from a JS to a GS. Bid a little above min but still considered “weak” by their scale.

Now can get into CK and SL.

mac_tlc

Curious first time cruiser here, what is CK and SL?

😅  It would work as it is myself, DNL and 2 grown granddaughters. Our ship is almost sold out as best I can tell so I am pretty sure the bids I have in currently will expire. But…🤞🏻 are still crossed.
