shanecindy21403 Posted December 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2018 I booked a 14 day cruise for myself, DH and DD. It is a round trip out of Fort Lauderdale and can also be purchased as a 7 day cruise. My first question is after looking at the itinerary my DH said he didn't want to do the second leg. Would he be able to disembark in Fort Lauderdale at the end of the first leg? Next question my DD has an issue and can only do the second leg would she be able to board? I've tried booking it as the 2 seven day cruises one with my DH and the other with my DD but it is coming out to be over 1000 more than booking it as a 14 day with all 3 of us. Any suggestions or advice?

Any suggestions or advice? As you know, if booked as two 7-day cruises, you could change the name for one passenger for a segment. But, I doubt Princess would let you change a passenger in mid-cruise. Are you working with a Travel Agent? If so, see what your TA might be able to do in this case. cherylandtk Posted December 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Is this for the Sky in December of 2019? In looking just now, there is no current price difference between booking as two 7 day vs. one 14 day. If you have already booked the 14 day, it is possible the pricing changed under the current promotion as compared to what you originally booked. in order to switch passengers at the halfway point, I think you will need to have it booked as two seven day cruises. paul929207 Posted December 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Your husband can probably get off after 7 days. He would need to get approval in advance. Princess would handle this. Not sure about your daughter boarding a week late. I would ask Princess.
skynight Posted December 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2018 What ship & date? The difference should not be as you state since you will not be paying for a 3rd berth.
OR_Cowboy_1952 Posted December 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Can you be more specific about the date, ship and cabin type? I don’t understand how the price for a 14 day cruise for 3 people is more money (ot ay least that much more money) than 2 each 7-day cruises for 2 people. shanecindy21403 Posted December 1, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Yes it's the Sky leaving on the 21st. of Dec 2019. I've got the same club class mini suite for both segments for all 3 of us at the rate a balcony is going for now. I figured it wouldn't be that much of an issue for my DH to get off after the first segment. I called Princess and they said just let guest services know that he'll be departing the ship at the end of the first leg. We also need to make sure we use up all his OBC before he departs. They can't seem to give me an answer about my DD. I've called 3 times and got different answers. The consensus is it shouldn't be a problem since I paid for all three and we have insurance just tell them when checking in she missed the ship and will be boarding when it returns to Fort Lauderdale. OR_Cowboy_1952 Posted December 1, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 1, 2018 We just went to the Princess website. Club Class is no longer available on the 14 or 1st 7 day cruises, so we compared mid-forward Mini-suites (without club class) Prices as of 1 Dec 2018 $10,040 14-day 21-Dec-2019 for 3 passengers Caribbean Explorer $4,278 7-day 21-Dec-2019 for 2 passengers Western Caribbean $4,258 7-day 28-Dec-2019 for 2 passengers Eastern Caribbean You would be on back to back cruises in the same cabin. You must have gotten the 14 day as a real deal? The website suggests booking 2 cruises for 2 will cost about $1,500 less.
shanecindy21403 Posted December 1, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Yes I got it at a killer deal. The rate was also combinable with the casino discount, free grats and lots of OBC. Plus I get to stay in same cabin and I don't have to bother with moving on turn around day.
paul929207 Posted December 1, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 1, 2018 In order to split the 14 day into two 7 days, you would probably have to rebook and therefore pay the current price and get the current perks.

Then you’ll have to take your chances. But just so you know, if you book a back-to-back (B2B) in the same cabin you do not have to remove your luggage, you just have to walk-off, do customs and immigration, and reboard.
