Carnival Fantasy Missing person

Currently onboard Fantasy. 22 old austic male went missing from his cabin last night. Last seen around 9:30p-10p, announcements started around 1am. As of now they’ve searched the ship with no success. About to leave Progresso, MX after being in port all day. Family member told me they brought tracking canine onboard to try tracking, but no luck. I asked an officer while waiting in line and he commented “at this time we haven’t had any luck locating him” this was around 4pm today.

A single persons post is mentioned on Cruise Hive and not a single word from Carnival or Coast Guard.

They knew within an hour of first page looking for him on the Victory that he had jumped and it was in news searches within the next hour.

This seems like fake news to me.

Doesn't seem likely that this is fake news, as we've now had someone onboard the Fantasy post here (at almost the same moment is you did) that they've been making announcements onboard and are actively looking for him all over the ship.

Just because it hasn't been reported on Cruise Critic yet, doesn't make it fake news!

No I mean the Fantasy.

There was a law enforcement matter on Fantasy on embarkation day, but it was not missing person related.

I have a friend on board and he told me the same thing.  They are now displaying the guys picture asking fellow passengers to keep an eye out.

While they may have tracked him to an air handler room, where the fans and cooling coils are, unless he had a pocket full of wrenches, they didn't track him into a duct.  It's not like the movies where you just pop off a grille and climb in.

Never paid much attention to them on a ship but in a building a lot of grills are just held on by a few hooks or clips you can undo in a second without any tools.

Given the vibration, movement, and flexing of a ship, pretty much anything that isn't bolted or screwed down ain't gonna be there in a while.  You'd be surprised what we bolt down on ships, including the monitor I'm reading this thread on.

 Yep. Buildings don’t usually move.

I'm also in the Fantasy and I can also confirm that this is not fake news. All I know is the person was an autistic male and he's been missing since last night. Yucantan Police brought search dogs on the ship to try to find him. They havent updated passengers in the last few hours.

Are there no cameras on that ship? They should have been able to follow his movements from his last known location.

I was surprised at the amount of cameras all on the Victory. I had never noticed before on a ship that every single hallway and public space had a camera. Only ones I had really seen before were the ones looking down the side of the ship and in the casino.

Wait what... Cheng, you just ruined a bunch of movies for me, say it ain't so man!

I've see with my very own eyes on TV guys timing the jump between fan blades after they just popped off the grills.

That ain't true either?

:-)

Actually buildings, esp. skyscrapers do move most of the time.  They are engineered to have some bit of sway during storms, high winds and earthquakes.  If they had no ability to move and tried to resist external forces or ground vibrations by remaining rigid, we would be reading about frequent building collapses.

An extreme example of this is a bridge, which one can actually feel bouncing if stuck in traffic.

I think the reason you havent heard this really in the media because they think he may be hiding on board. They dont think he went overboard or they dont have evidence that he went over board.

Passengers onboard Carnival Fantasy,

Have you heard any updates today? Thank you.
