Thanks for the great review so far.  I will be on Lady O in just a short 17 days for two weeks.   This itinerary will be our first week and it is really getting me ready.   Love your writing and all the great pictures.

Wow 2 weeks! Nice. You are gonna have an amazing time! 😃😃😃

Loving your review!  We will be on the Oasis at the beginning of March with the same itinerary.  Still haven't decided what to do at any of the stops.

Thanks! It’s a great itinerary, we spent very little on excursions and still had a phenomenal time. 😉

Love your reviews. You writing style is great and I love all the pictures. They always make me smile.

Thanks! I hoped I wasn’t overloading everyone with too many pictures. I took over 3000 and it’s so hard to narrow them down to a few. 😄

What was your total for the trip to Paradise beach? I am trying to decide between that or an all-inclusive option like Nachi Cocum.

Love your review!

We spent $6 entrance, my drinks were $11.50, and W's beer was $18, so our total was $35.50 before tips. The cab ride is $10-15 each way. I am attaching the menus below. Maybe that will help too.

The Last Sea Day

I can safely say that Oasis is our new side Boo. We adore that ship! It has a vibe that’s hard to explain. The aesthetic works. It's a small city on the sea. We were shook! (which is really hard to do)

We started our last Sea Day with no alarm. Whoop whoop! We decided to let nature take its course. We would wake up when we were no longer sleepy. See, we can get wild when we want to. Deal with it. Nature said 10am was the time, so that’s when we arose.  We handled our hygiene then went to Windjammer. It was crowded but we didn’t have to wait to get in or anything. We were in the overflow section in the back again, and that made it convenient to pick from both sides. There weren’t any waffles at all on the right side and I thought I was going to have a full blown panic attack if they weren’t on the other side either. Houston, we (might) have a problem.  I quickly gathered a few more items then went over to see. I didn’t even realize I was holding my breath until I let out a big sigh of relief when I saw them. Dios Mio! My breakfast was saved! I think my extra prayers are working. Good looking out, Big Guy!

We ate quicker than usual. I wanted to go check out the picture situation. When we got to Focus, I put my card in to check the pictures on the display. I already knew which ones I wanted by then. I pressed the selection to Print the Picture. A message popped up telling me to check the folder to see if it was in there first. So the kiosk provides important info. Ok then. I'll admit that I was baffled at first. Then I remembered something on my card about a photo location. I looked at my Sea Pass, and it said that my photo # was 14-67. There are towers all over the photo gallery with numbers and folders. You locate your tower first, then look down the side for the row of your folder number. Bingo! So that’s what these folders are! W and I felt smart for figuring it out on our own. Once we found our folder, we opened it and all of our pictures were inside. We chose the ones that we wanted and paid. That was so fast! I expected to have to come back later to pick them up after waiting in a horrific line. I see you Royal Caribbean. Making it way too easy to spend my money.

We were done with picture purchasing quicker than we thought. W wanted to go to The Solarium. Naturally. Since I didn't have another plan, we went and found seats. It wasn’t overcrowded either. There was lots of activity all over the ship, so people were spread out. I dropped off my stuff then went to take photos of some of the areas that I’d missed before. The casino was on and popping. Maybe they were giving away free money. I went to check, but I didn't see a free money line. I kept it moving, walking around some before I went back to join W.

I still had 5 drinks left of my 10. My first drink of the day was the Port Side Punch. It was good. It reminded me of the rum punch that I had in Jamaica. As I was lounging in my chair, I realized that I was very warm. Hmmmm. Maybe my lounge chair was not in such a great spot after all. I was in direct sunlight with no breeze blowing. Earlier there was a wrap and some small misc items occupying lounge chairs next to W. By this time they disappeared, so I sat on the other side of him right in front of the window. Wow  what a huge difference that was! It was nice and breezy and I was out of the sun. Ok now I was right as rain. The water was smooth as glass and a beautiful shade of blue. It was hard to believe that we would be back in much cooler, not tropical Caribbean, temperatures the next day. Le ewwww.

We laid out until our 4 o’clock nap time. I don't know what I’m gonna do about my 4 o’clock naps when I have to go back to work. It's gonna suck to not be able to lay out all day, eat, then nap until dinner. Hopefully I'll make it. W wanted to hit Park Café one last time, but my priority was sleep. I needed one more cruise nap to hold me over until the next one. He joined me of course, and we got up around 6:30 so we could start packing.

Sometime during our packing, we received our alcohol that we’d purchased in port. That was perfect timing. It didn’t take long to pack at all. My packing cubes were still organized and all I had to do was throw them back in the suitcase. We use W’s suitcase for laundry on the way back. We had a lot this time, which doesn’t bother me, cuz W does the laundry at home (another reason that I keep him around).  After we threw in the shoe pile, we were done. We got ready for dinner and we still had about 15 minutes to wait.

Dinner was already in progress when we got there. Our tablemates made it there too. Mingming was waiting and ready to talk to us after we were seated. She said she was sad that we were leaving because we were so nice to her. She also said that this week went by fast for her because she liked all of her guests. Yay us!

Tonight I had the caesar salad, battered cod, and apple pie a la mode. All of my food was great. During dinner I asked what the drink of the day was. Mingming showed me the menu on her phone again. It was still the same Port Side Punch, but she pronounced it “port sigh puncha”. After she said it, she asked us what was  “puncha”. I laughed first, then explained it to her. She said she only knew about punching in and punching out. She didn’t know you could drink it too. I'm really going to miss her. She is so cute!

We took a minute after dinner to thank our waiters. They worked so hard to feed us and keep us happy all week. That couldn’t have been easy! Before we left Mingming gave me my last origami. It was a pikachu. She said she hoped it made me think of her. I actually kept all of the origami that she made me, cuz that was the sweetest thing ever.

We ran back to the cabin and threw the last few stragglers in (what we were wearing), then placed the luggage in the hall. We had Zone 5 tags. Not bad.  According to the schedule in the Cruise Compass, we should be able to get off at 8:15. They don’t call out zones on the intercom system on the Oasis. You can only see the current zones on the screens in designated waiting areas. I think they do this to force us to leave our cabins. Well played Royal Caribbean. Well played.

There was one more comedy show that night at 10:30 in Studio B. We made reservations for it, but they weren’t necessary. Our cards weren’t scanned at the door. It was first come first served. The same two comedians were performing different material. Both of them were very funny.

After the show we walked up to Royal Promenade. We got our last pizza and drinks for the cruise. We went back to 10699 and ate there. We were worn all the way out, therefor we turned in once we made sure we were ready to roll the next day.

Before I fell asleep, I said a prayer thanking God that the “bump” on my nose hadn’t gotten any bigger. I can’t be walking around looking like that witch with the warts, who gave Snow White that poisoned apple. If something that big popped up on my nose, I'm figuring out how to claim it on my taxes. Tuh.

Wildra, loved reading about your neighbours, but I sure would not want to have to heard it first hand.😱

Didn’t love it as much as your smile though. Showed it to Lisa, my DW, and she agreed. When I’m on a cruise I smile a lot too.

Wildra, love your review!

Do you plan to do a compare/contrast versus the newer Carnival ships?  I think a lot of us would be interested in your honest opinion since you are a seasoned cruiser on Carnival...

I would be particularly interested in:

  • MDR food
  • Other food options/quality
  • Decor
  • Public Spaces
  • Entertainment quality and options
  • Fellow cruisers
  • Staterooms
  • Overall impressions
