no fuss travel Posted June 29, 2019 #2204 Share Posted June 29, 2019 Welcome to the Rock. You go to Newfoundland for the people, not the weather. It is a very colourful city, as a matter of fact the oldest city in North America. There is a very interesting brewery Where they bottle their beer in blue bottles (makes a good souvenir) There are a couple of good museums to visit, one has quite a bit on the Titanic, lovely hikes around town and people watching is fantastic

I wasn't complaining...just posting my morning pictures. It's actually a lovely warm sunny day! I've been here before so just walking around town today. Got a mani/pedi! Fish & chips lunch at the Bagel Cafe...ummm. Edited June 29, 2019 by Go-Bucks!
no fuss travel Posted June 29, 2019 #2206 Share Posted June 29, 2019 LIsa, I wasn't accusing you of complaining. That is what the locals said to us the entire time we were visiting The Rock. The people are incredible all over the province. Quite the characters. I was actually answering the question, what to see there? Sorry about that. bob brown Posted June 30, 2019 #2212 Share Posted June 30, 2019 After all that travel, the Insignia is now less than 50 miles from France.....😮 French Overseas Territory, that is...😄 The tiny islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon off the coast of Newfoundland, are the only remaining French territory in North America. Their currency is the Euro...😎
Sorry Muffin Posted June 30, 2019 #2213 Share Posted June 30, 2019 Enjoying reading about your World Cruise, I just found the thread so have a bit of catching up. But this does not matter to me. The longest cruise I've been on is 15 days (Panama Canal). Once a year I review each cruise, next week I will be reviewing my Alaska Cruise Smooth sailing, and fair winds Mary Louise

Go-Bucks! Posted July 1, 2019 Author #2217 Share Posted July 1, 2019 (edited) Here we are in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada! Happy Canada Day to all our Canadian fellow passengers and other CC readers! We were told that everything's closed except for shops on the pier and since it's chilly and rainy, that will be my destination today. bob brown Posted July 2, 2019 #2219 Share Posted July 2, 2019 Looks like Halifax is going to be “busy”...the Celebrity Summit is overnight at Pier 20, the Cunard Queen Mary 2 will be at Pier 22, and the Insignia will dock at Pier 31....🙂
