brookmill18 Posted January 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2019 We will be traveling with a group of 18 year olds, one of whom will have an international passport and a green card. Cruise is out of Cape Liberty and stops in Cape Canaveral, Nassau, Labadee. Anyone done something like this? Thinking customs upon return will be a different line, but anything else to think about? Thanks!
Journey2016 Posted January 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2019 I have traveled with a woman with a green card, as well as with a married couple with eastern European passports and a tourist visa. The line is the same, and there were no issues.
BlueRiband Posted January 27, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2019 "International" passport? From which country? Bermuda and Haiti might require citizens of that country to have visas. Check the immigration sites of both. If they require a visa for those citizens, and the 18-year old doesn't have one, he or she would be denied boarding at the pier. Proper travel documentation is the passenger's responsibility.

Thanks! Is this "International Passport", (I assume you mean the passport is from this individuals home country),, still valid? Must not be expired. If the person has a Green Card, they do not need a visa to the USA. Back to the initial question. Having a green card. Only in Miami "did" they send Green Card holder to the line of foreigers. Do not know if this has change. In other cruise ports I have entered in the US citizen line. Have not sailed into Cape Liberty though.

Yes, the green card is sufficient to return to the US but the other question is do the countries being visited require visas for visitors from the traveler's land. SRF Posted January 28, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2019 You need both the passport and green card. Green card is fine for US entry, passport info for other countries, and yes, the cruise line provides a manifest with that info to each country. As for visas, you do have to check, as some Carib countries have visa requirements for citizens of various countries. But many do allow cruise ship visits without a visa. My SO is from Eastern Europe. On our next cruise, one stop requires a visa for citizens of her country. EXCEPT, cruise visitors are exempted. A good reference is www.visahq.com You enter the citizenship of the passenger, and the destination. Once you get to the page for that country, if there is a different requirement for cruise pax, there will be a Cruise tab to the left. As always, you should double check with the Embassy of the country in question to ensure that a visa is not required.
