ipeeinthepool Posted February 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2019 On the current Silhouette cruise we had a passenger arrested in the Cayman Islands. She did not get all of her luggage in Fort Lauderdale before we left and Delta forwarded her bag to the Cayman Islands. She was arrested when she went to claim the bag because she packed a gun in the bag. She needed $10000 bail and is currently awaiting her next court date on Feb 11. A new way to ruin your vacation

Nachosdelux Posted February 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2019 my guess is that is was left in the suitcase unintentionally. I know it sounds odd, but every day people in the USA get detained/arrested for a gun in their carry-on at airports. The vast majority are "accidental"

But then again why would anyone actually need a gun anyway short of working in an occupation that demanded it. Swing and a miss. I own guns and they have obsoletely nothing to do with employment. Some of us are very responsible gun owners. One size doesn't fit all!
CHEZMARYLOU Posted February 9, 2019 #7 Share Posted February 9, 2019 If she didn't get her luggage when arriving in Ft. Lauderdale then the gun was packed in the checked luggage. This is permissible in the US as long as the gun is in a locked case, not loaded and declared. What she was going to do when she reached Ft. Lauderdale is anyone's guess since she could not take it on board.
