There's no fee if you take your OBC from your S&S card & transfer to slot machine.  Play a little bit & then cash it out.  We used to transfer it to a machine & try to increase our winnings before cashing out, but we decided to cash it out after just using $10 of it.  What we cash out helps pay for taxi to airport & possible taxi home from our home airport.

Do note that most cruiselines do NOT want you using the slot machine as a "free" ATM.  It's happened on HAL and I think it was on NCL.  If you pull money from your account and almost immediately cash out, they can "freeze" that option.  Of course, if you never return to the casino, it won't matter.  Just a heads up for those who plan on doing this.

As for whether a B2B on Princess counts as a 14-night or 2 7s, you should probably ask on the Princess board.  HAL counts it a 1 sailing because they sell it as one.  Carnival doesn't because they don't sell it as one sailing.  Haven't sailed Princess so can't help.

Our upcoming cruise on Sky Princess is shown on the site as a 14-day cruise (Feb. 1-15), and that's how we booked it -- or thought we did.  As it turns out, it splits in to two separate 7-day bookings.  I'm wondering, since Princess advertises it as a 14-day cruise, how it would be recognized for the benefit.  Will it be two 100 OBCs, or one 250 OBCs?

I believe I have read previously that it depends if you have one or two booking numbers. One would get you the $250; two would get you $100 twice.

  • 1 year later...

Given the times, now seems like a good time to ask if everyone thinks this benefit will be renewed in the future? Right now, the shareholder benefit is valid until July 2021, with bookings made prior to February 2021. Given the company's financial standing, who thinks they'll continue to extend this benefit for years to come?

I'm 24 y/o and considering investing for the first time. My MBA education tells me to buy low, sell high, but I'm so afraid CCL Corp will claim chapter 11 bankruptcy. However, once cruising starts up again (at some point it will), it could be quite the investment, especially since I love to cruise lol.

I’m 33, so not too much older. Right now the stock is about $18 a share. To receive the shareholder credit you need 100 shares (assuming your do as you posted in this thread). That would be about $1,800... a steal to the $5k I paid a few years ago. If you can’t risk losing all $1,800 in this risky single stock, you should stop looking at single stocks and only look at mutual funds.
