Back to back moving rooms

Hi all, we are booked on a week cruise and are thinking of doing the previous week also.  This would mean moving from one suite to the next door suite. Would the butler assist? Do we have to repack and unpack everything?  Can anyone tell me how this happens and do we have to disembark and embark second time.  We are starting and stopping at Southampton. Many thanks for your help,

We did a B2B on the Equinox this past December.  We went from a Celebrity suite to an Aqua cabin.  Yes, your butler will assist.  Anything hanging in the closets will be transported.  Everything else must be loaded into your suitcases.  Very easy and painless.

In Miami, we had to leave the ship, as it had to be cleared for customs.  I'm not sure of the procedure in Southhampton.

Very easy process. Only problem comes if you move from a category which has those annoying hangers to one with normal hangers. We moved from a concierge stateroom to Aqua Class on Constellation last summer and although they moved them on the hangers we ended up having to rehang them - no real problem though.

You can, but don’t have to, leave the ship in Southampton.

Absolutely correct...we are not in the USA yet! You should get your new seapass card on the last night, so you can have the ship to yourself if you want.

As you are only moving next door, this should be dead easy. You might have the same steward for both rooms, so just ask him/her to do your new one first, move everything, then they can do the old one. Probably by the time the butler has arrived to help, you will have done it all anyway!

We did a B2B in Southampton last September.  As stated, we were not required to leave the ship.  We had breakfast, and then went to a designed room (I think the movie theatre) to trade sea pass cards.  We expected to have to wait in there, or some other space while they cleared, and cleaned the ship, but we were allowed the run of the ship.  The hallway doors were closed, but our room attendants told us we could push them open to come and go, if we wanted to return to the room.   We ended up relaxing in the solarium to stay out of the way.  It could not have been more organized.

Last time we did a back-to-back, we were in the same cabin both cruises--and it was wonderful...Did not have to pack up or anything...left everything where it was.  We were issued new cards and had to log out on the old one and log in on the new one...but never left the ship...

BUT, this coming June and July, we are doing back to back 12-nighters out of Amsterdam on the Reflection...and need to not only change cabins, but change decks...and, we are NOT is a suite either leg...so we have no butler...Would have rather kept the same cabin throughout...but that's just not the way it worked out for various reasons...So, to piggyback on this thread, what will be the procedure for those of us doing this NOT in a suite with a butler...and NOT in cabins that are reasonably close to each other?

I am assuming we will have to be all packed in order to vacate our first cabin so they can start cleaning it for the next occupants...and that our new cabin will not be ready until around 1:00 pm.  Will they move not only our luggage but also all of the small items that we usually carry on?  What do they do with all of our stuff between the time we need to vacate the first cabin and when the second one is ready?  Thanks...

In all honesty, the process will be so easy that you will wonder why you asked.  Your stateroom attendants will coordinate the move.  Just as if you were in a Suite the small items and your toiletries will need to be packed.  Ask for plastic bags if you wish.  The items in your closet on hangers will be moved on a trolley.  While some butlers and stateroom attendants have their particular preference as to how the move is handled, it is likely that the suitcases and items on hangers will be transferred as soon as the previous cabin occupants leave.  You will be responsible for the contents of your stateroom safe.  As always, Celebrity will deliver a succinct instruction letter regarding the B2B turnaround day procedure.

We've had to do this before. You don't need to pack everything! First, go and find your new attendant during the 1st cruise and ask them to do your new room first on changeover day. Similarly, ask your 'old' attendant to do your old room last. Go to breakfast! Go and see if your new room is done. As said, attendants will help you move, but to be honest we normally do it ourselves. Ask to borrow one of those hotel trolleys and you can hang most clothes and pile everything else into cases and put on the trolley. As most people will be off the ship by now, you should have no problem getting a lift (elevator). You'll probably move rooms in 2 trolley trips...its all part of the adventure!! As said above, the doors off the stairwells to cabins will be closed, but not locked, so you can get in and out of your cabin(s) as required.

Have fun!

We did B2B2B last year and changed cabins on the last leg. Our cabin steward made it very easy. For us all the B2Bers went in a group to a lounge and then off the ship and turned right back around and re boarded with our new seapasses. There was a very nice lunch in the dining room for us as well. We also experienced that the hallway doors were closed but not locked and we were able to access our cabin if we wanted to do so. I transferred some things into the safe in the new cabin. Mostly we enjoyed watching the changeovers and taking pics in normally crowded areas that were empty. Looking forward to another B2B later this year.

We are also B2B Santiago to San Diego and San Diego to Vancouver March/April. Will we have to disembark in San Diego?

Anyone know what happens when we cross the Equator, are there any  special celebrations?

When crossing the equator they have a ceremony where you can kiss a fish.. I didn't as too many lips were on that fish !! You will also receive a certificate

That reminded me of when we stopped in Arica and the crew picked up 2 tuna for the ceremony.

Second, the crew 'buying' 2 tuna

and 'kissing' the fish

What amazed me most was the cost of the fish. A Japanese sushi restraunteur recently paid about $2million for one fish! The cost to the ship for the 2 fish?  One tray of 48 Coca Cola cans each!

Yes they usually have a Neptune Party and also usually leave a certificate for you in your room.
