Recently I did both.  Paid some on credit card and used some OBC for others.  Easy peasy!

Is there a reason for that? I thought one would like to use up the non refundable OBC anyway.

Just want to keep the OBC for other things, drinks, etc.  LOL

It's the same price. No discount for using OBC rather than a credit card.  Just individual preference.

Sometimes people get hit with bigger than expected cc bills at the end. Having OBC helps reduce the shock without inhibiting charging on the cruise so much.  Or they might prefer to spread a few hundred out while paying off the entire cruise. Prepaid fun!
