Shebba Posted March 22, 2019 #228 Share Posted March 22, 2019 I am thoroughly enjoying your report on this wonderful cruise. We have been seriously considering this one for next year and this certainly increases the desire to do so!! Your pictures are great. Thanks so much for sharing. We did Fanning Island years ago on a Norwegian cruise and absolutely fell in love so we would really love to go back. Glad you got to experience that! Looking forward to your continued postings. Thanks again for taking us along.

Thanks for postings, I always like to see what is going on in the ships for different sailings. Also like the food pictures, it is lunch time right now and I’m hungry. If you like the rock group a Queen, that movie Bohemian Rhapsody is good. Kinda sad life for him though.
Cls241 Posted March 22, 2019 #234 Share Posted March 22, 2019 Funny, every time we do a cruise we're so busy I never get to really relax. The cruise we have coming up on the Eurodam on 5/11 was going to be my relaxing cruise. I only booked one 3rd party Whale Watch (Alaska-Again) and a couples massage. The rest was downtime. Seeing the activities I see very little I would want to do... and even though it will be totally different destination it may mean I can sit on the verandah, sip a drink and read a book! 🙂 Thanks again for the shares, it's been wonderful following along! Is moonfish and wahoo the same thing? The first picture of the ceremony in post 215 is definitely a moonfish. In Hawaii, it's called Opah. It's a big round fish that's thin from side to side. It's a delicious delicate white fish. Wahoo is nothing like that. It's a long skinny fish, similar in shape to a large barracuda. It's a fast swimming fish, so it's muscular, and is more steak-like. We get plenty of it from the Atlantic in Florida. A fish from the Pacific is more of a treat for those of us from Florida than a fish we have available at home. Pic #215 wasn’t a real fish, that was a fake plastic type decorative etc, thought the poster was asking about the menu pic. Thx!
seamist Posted March 23, 2019 Author #237 Share Posted March 23, 2019 Tonight’s menu and pics from the “Blue” Gala Night. An FYI... with upcoming ports and tours, making it to the dining room might be iffy upon occasion. Will try to at least get menus from a Navigator App but pics might be missing. seamist Posted March 23, 2019 Author #241 Share Posted March 23, 2019 Today is our first day in Bora Bora! Following are the mini activities scheduled if you happen to stay on ship (don’t know who would!). We plan to take a shuttle to Matira Beach today, walk around shops, see Bloody Mary’s...will post a few pics later. Will report back as well where to take the shuttle, costs, time to Beach, etc.

seamist Posted March 24, 2019 Author #244 Share Posted March 24, 2019 Today was fabulous! Bora Bora is absolutely stunning. Got a tender ticket right away and was onshore just shortly after 9:00 AM. As you come onto the dock area there is a building where they are selling all sorts of stuff and just behind that building are $5 shuttles. $5 per person each way to Matira Beach and will stop by Bloody Mary’s. Very hot and humid day high 80’s low 90’s plenty of sun a few intermittent brief showers in the morning. Water was lovely, crystal clear, beautiful blue, just like the photos. I was going to try and grab a pic of one of those over the water bungalows but apparently need to actually be staying there so wasn’t able to. Could see some of them from the ship, but too far out to get a good picture. Perhaps somebody actually overnighting in one will post a picture. Going to try and post some pics but upload will be sloooww unfortunately.
seamist Posted March 24, 2019 Author #245 Share Posted March 24, 2019 Some photos of Matira Beach. There are a few restaurants off the beach and there is a public restroom facility available. You can rent a chair for $5. BUT, changing facilities are scarce (unless you use one of the restrooms).
seamist Posted March 24, 2019 Author #246 Share Posted March 24, 2019 Some pics of Matira Hotel right on Matira Beach if anybody is ever interested, have no idea what the cost is at this point, but looked interesting. Not over the water bungalows, but still an individual bungalow right on the beach.

seamist Posted March 24, 2019 Author #248 Share Posted March 24, 2019 Went to Bloody Mary’s after Matira Beach, DH had a cheeseburger and I had the Mahi-Mahi B Burger then we split a Tahitian Vanillia Ice Cream. Was going to get a cocktail but $17/$18 a pop was a bit rich for me so we passed. The burgers and ice cream totaled abt $40 U.S.
