canadaman111 Posted March 17, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2019 We have 2 connecting rooms booked for a cruise coming up in January. We have 3 people booked in each room. We may need to cancel one person. We are booked with early saver if that makes a difference. We have just paid our deposit and I am aware we would not get that back. So if we canceled one person what would happen? Would we possibly have to change rooms so that we didn't have a three person to booked for 2? Could we just pay the rest of the fare and have him not show up the day we get on?
Aplmac Posted March 17, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2019 That last sentence of yours... Ignore your situation and just go with a No-Show?
MCC retired Posted March 17, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2019 Since you are not even close to Final Payment , cancel 3rd now and eat the ES Penalty . If your connecting cabin bookings are linked you should be safe from cabin change . Better yet , you have lots of time to find another guest and do a Name Change .

Linking does not prevent a cabin reassignment due to occupancy change.
Bevv Posted March 17, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2019 Another option.... Does person 3 have cancel for any reason insurance or a reason covered by insurance? If so they can get some kind of reimbursement from the insurance company

Early Saver doesn't allow name changes. So what Carnival would have to do is cancel the cabin then re-book it for whoever will be staying in it. That means paying the current rate for that cabin at the time of re-booking. And paying the penalties involved with Early Saver. We went through this last year when we had a family back out on us, so we let our son take someone else. Having a good PVP helps. Ours made it as painless as possible. marmac761 Posted July 18, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 18, 2019 We cancelled one of my grandsons out of a room with 2 other grandsons. We were in a room for 2 by ourselves. They would not let the 2 boys stay in the room for 3. They changed us into 2 rooms on Panorama aft. We had midship lido. They only charged new price for boys room. I still was got back $100 and port fees.
