How are the Swans doing, 2019

Recommended Posts

Disappointing by the Giants, and totally overwhelmed by Richmond. I thought in the first quarter they would be in the game, but fell apart.

Giants took in unfit players, and some of their biggest names just did not contribute. Seemed like they had their big game last week in the prelim.

Richmond would have beaten anyone yesterday.

Another AFL season done and dusted. Richmond are premiers after absolutely smashing the GWS. Final scores -

Tigers 17.12.114 d Giants 3.7.25. Over a 100,00 attended the match which is quite amazing. My son, son in law and his twin brother lined up outside the Melbourne Cricket Club reserve at 5 am to obtain seats when the gates opened at 8 am. They managed to get three of the best seats in the ground - level 2, almost on the wing. I decided not to line up with them and stayed at home to watch the game.

Now for the trade period in a week or so and draft later in November. Then it will almost be time for the 2020 season!

Go Bombers!

Thanks for the update, I was away for the weekend (Masters Football tournament at Huskisson). We came fifth after 3 games yesterday and one today. Watched the game for around 5 mins when we got a chance, was not happy with the score line despite suspecting the result was almost a foregone conclusion.

Agreed, the occasion was much too large for them I feel.

So wait...this is real??? I just checked scores (thinking I was ahead of things, but I wasn't. Dam the time difference!).  Richmond kicked GWS butts by a lot? 117.12 to 3.7? Is that even legal?

How could it be so one-sided? What have I missed?

I am feeling very disappointed...discouraged...amazed..shocked...

that the GF could end this way.

What will we do until next season?😢

This was the score ML - Tigers 17.12.114 d Giants 3.7.25. Giants were beaten by 89 points or 14 goals 5 behinds.

Not quite as bad as you wrote! Yes it was a thrashing and I didn't even watch the last quarter! I tidied my pantry instead. It was disappointing for the GWS supporters and players. But I think, if you were at the MCG, unless you were a Giants' supporter, you would have enjoyed the atmosphere. It would have been amazing!

P.s I won golden boot for my team and the club (there is 4 teams) and I also won Clubman of the year. I am very stoked at that one.

Good onya Mic!! Hope that means that you won't have to pay for a beer until next season 😉

Cheers,  I wish it did mean that.

It is the Grand Final of the NRL today (Rugby League), with the Sydney (East) Roosters vs Canberra Raiders. I am hoping the Raiders can do it today and bring some happiness back to the city.

Oops, fat fingers strike again. But still, that was an awfully big difference for a GF, don't you think??

I'm sure the Giants fans were quite happy!

And speaking of Giants fans, I am one. Of the NY Giants in American pro football (see what I did there 😊) But I have to say, I enjoy your AFL games a lot more. American football is almost unwatchable these days. It is really just a bunch of penalties interrupted by commercials. But at least my team seems to have found a new quarterback, which we really needed. They still have a way to go to be competitive but they have won 2 in a row.

Yes, some of the games have been on here. Hope the Raiders get the win for you and Canberra.

I’ll be cheering the Raiders on, so I guess they are a cert to get beat.

Funny you say that, I have a mate from Buffalo (hope to meet 8n person one day) who is a mad Brissy Lions supporter, he is also as ugly as you can get, even his mum says we could pass as brothers.

I actually could like NFL if they would just get on with the game and ditch all the protective gear, played a few seasons back when I was at Uni, not a bad game except for the stoppages and all the padding makes it hard to really hurt someone.

It is scary how much alike we look, so he must be ugly, and i was taught to be nice to those less fortunate, (you know have to follow the lions rather than the mighty Blues)
