Nhsaltshaker Posted March 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2019 Our British Isles cruise overnights in Dublin. We'll be on the Crown Princess this May. After sightseeing during the day, one of my cruise mates wants to visit a relative who lives there. Does anyone know if there is a curfew on the first night? If so, what time? Thanks in advance. jagsfan Posted March 22, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2019 There isn’t normally a curfew. Some people go on an overnight tour, some close down the bars.
antsp Posted March 22, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2019 I’ve never heard of a curfew on Princess for Adults or Kids, I know RCCL have one for kids
skynight Posted March 22, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2019 During overnights the gangplank usually remains open overnight.
Steelers36 Posted March 23, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2019 One gangplank is manned (or womaned) overnight. I presume this is at all port stops in the world.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted March 23, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 23, 2019 You can come and go as you please all night. 👍

True enough.. or just leave it at "manned" as I think we all understand both sexes work in all areas of the ships. It's like the term "you guys" no longer refers exclusively to males. I don't believe in "person hole covers" either but I don't make the "rules". I was once jumped on for using "he/she" because I didn't make it "she/he". I was totally reamed for using the term "Hispanic" even though I worked for the state of California and that is the term all of their official forms used. I was told in no uncertain terms that use of that term made me a racist. The person in question insisted that not using the terms "Latino or Latina" and, instead using "Hispanic" (which, as I said above, was the "official" term on all of the state of California forms) absolutely proved I was a racist. Whatever. I don't like "hyphenated American" terms. I think everybody is entitled to simply be "American". Sheesh... I thought that's what the country was supposed to be all about. Everybody should be equal and the term "American" should cover everybody. Sigh... EDIT: Guess I should give up and go to bed. Sorry. I was raised by my grandparents who fled the Oklahoma Dust Bowl. Nobody wanted the "damn Okies". They lived discrimination so "forgot" to include it in my upbringing. I have always been boggled by those who don't like others for their skin color, origin of their parents, whatever. It's just weird. I have major issues with @$$h0|35 but those come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Edited March 24, 2019 by Thrak

The thing is..even if one uses the PC or "right" word, the message delivered can still be racist or sexist. Racism is a state of mind often reflected in outward attitude or action. Words alone don't always tell the tale. But we all know there are some obvious words that reflect nothing but bad. Anyway.. I digress. I have also often seen "(s)he" used. ;)
sandyoftheseas Posted April 2, 2019 #11 Share Posted April 2, 2019 You can return to the ship anytime. When we overnighted in Dublin we stayed in a castle that night and just informed our cabin steward we would be gone all night.
