audobon_tx Posted March 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2019 If it is a summer cruise, check air conditioning availability. Many hotels in Copenhagen have none. I sweated through a night at the Admiral last summer.

Rare uktog Posted March 24, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2019 We used the Crowne Plaza at the airport. Great modern hotel, temperature seemed good (we don’t know about this aircon thing!) Very easy shuttle provided from the airport and quiet rooms. We then used the so easy, clean and modern subway from across the road and hopped into town for exploring. For one night it ticked all the boxes. Sometimes they sell packages that include cruise ship transfers. It all depends which dock Azamara is using. Mrs.Dukes Posted March 24, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2019 We are staying at the Absalon Hotel. We have not stayed there before, but it had good reviews on Trip Advisor, and the price was pretty good. Also on the ports of call board here, a number of people recommended it. hubofhockey Posted March 24, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2019 I like the Adina Hotel. It's not far from the cruise port, walkable to the town, and has a supermarket next to it for bottles of wine or other things before the cruise. It's apartment style and not expensive. the mice Posted March 24, 2019 #9 Share Posted March 24, 2019 We stayed in the Radisson across from Tivoli, but ours was a stay on points and we were there for 3 nights pre-cruise. It was right across from Tivoli, the TI was on the corner, and the train station was 1 block away. We took the train in from the airport and it was an easy walk to the hotel since we were traveling with only carry on bags. Great A/C and it was extremely hot when we were there - high 90's Fahrenheit.
Literary Lynne Posted March 25, 2019 #10 Share Posted March 25, 2019 We also stayed at the Absolon Hotel. It is three minutes walk from Copenhagen Central Station, so it was easy to get from the airport on the train. It is also about a five minute walk to Tivoli Gardens, where we spent our first afternoon and evening - magical! There are a couple of little supermarkets very close by. We loved the Absolon Hotel and had a beautiful, stylish corner room with sitting area. The breakfast was fantastic. Next morning, the receptionist called us a cab to the ship, which was conveniently moored close to the Little Mermaid, not way out of town where the bigger ships are moored. Would return to the Absolon if we stayed in Copenhagen again. Lynne

The Marriott had air conditioning, many hotels didn't. Another hotel which is excellent, and is also has amenities such as Air Conditioning is the AC Hotel by Marriott, Bella Sky Copenhagen. It is outside the city, but you can easily get to the major sites by their Tram System. Highly recommend.
