cruise to live Posted April 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2019 I thinking of a cruise on Magic in December. I'm wondering, if it has been refurbished. If not, is it scheduled to be?
Umbrae Noctem Posted April 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2019 2016 was the year it was dry docked, however they add the Seafood Shack recently.

Chyna3032 Posted April 21, 2019 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2019 This ship is in need of carpet replacement in some areas. The smell is really bad from the mold.
cellfree Posted April 21, 2019 #8 Share Posted April 21, 2019 We were on Magic in January but did not smell mold. Enjoy the layout of the Magic but did feel the Atrium was a little dreary.

For sure! It was pretty bad around stairs and lower decks seemed worse when I was on her a few weeks ago.
martinchem Posted April 21, 2019 #10 Share Posted April 21, 2019 I wa on the Magic and Horizon during March 2019. I love that the Magic gives full access of the promenade deck entirely, period. I wish that the Jacuzzis near Ocean Plaza were removed and better casual furniture was in place. I think the Serenity area could be upgraded to a better overhanging roof or awning with upgraded couches and chairs like the Horizon. The sleeping pods are nice but not for casual drinking or reading or talking with friends new or old.

Flytko Posted April 22, 2019 #12 Share Posted April 22, 2019 She could also use a fresh coat of paint. We parked by her in Cozumel the other day, she is definitely starting to show her age.... I do love that ship though...
boomhower Posted April 22, 2019 #13 Share Posted April 22, 2019 With a significant dry dock in 2016 I would not expect much more than upkeep such as carpet, mattresses, paint etc. Possible one or upgrades but mostly maintenance type issues. It was pretty bad around stairs and the lower decks like you said. In addition, I ended up hoarse, and drainage and with a scratchy throat and didn't connect the dots until later; it was the mold. I was like, I'm out here in this beautiful salt water air, so why am I getting sick?

That would be good enough for me. It's a beautiful ship, but that moldy carpet needs to be addressed before Sept. 2020 because it will get significantly worse between now and then.
