Question About Photos

We received an email from Princess regarding a "Platinum Studio Savings of $200". Then they said " Buy now, and save $200 on a premium photo experience at the Platinum Studio."

Does anyone know if this just applies to informal pictures taken while dining, disembarking at port stops, etc. or can it be used for a formal sitting in their studio?

The Platinum Studio is a black and white formal portrait studio located usually on the upper decks near the aft elevators and is expensive but a very nice product. Your savings will be realized when you purchase a photo package.

what is the 'minimum' that you can get out of there with a picture - say 1 5x7 and that's it ...?

We paid $199 for a single print several years ago.

It was an 8x10. I do not remember if there was a 5x7 option.

The photos are taken by appointment and you come back for a later appointment to select which, if any, you wish to purchase. You select which photo(s) you want from them being shown on a TV.

You do not get the finished product on the ship. They are shipped to your home from somewhere on land where they do some touchups to the photos such as removing stray hairs sticking up on your head.

This package is only Black & white which has already been said.  It has nothing to do with the Photographs taken by the Princess photo people. The only way these pictures are done is by appointment. it is a outside company renting space on the ship. Also it is costly, my friend had three photos done for his 50th Wedding Anniversary, the cost delivered to his home in USA was over $1000 dollars. The company is located in Minnesota or Wisconsin I believe.

The initial sitting (taking of the pictures) is free as is the later viewing of the pictures. The only cost to you, where you could utilize the $200 promo, is if/when you buy any prints. That might be enough to cover one small print. They may also require you spend, say, $500 in order to use $200 promo.

I will say that the photos were excellent. We would have liked to get all of them but the cost is prohibitive.
