Just returned from Majesty of the Seas - any questions?

Recommended Posts

Another question: I noticed on the deck 12 plan there is a running track; however, looking at video on youtube, it seems there really is not a track, just a narrow path  between two rows of deck loungers. Do people jog there or on deck 7?

Our experience has been that deck 7 is used, however they had signs that restricted the jogging times.

Yet another question: Is there really a formal night? OP indicated there was one, but I thought on short cruises they skipped that. I had not planned to bring the tux for this cruise.

According to the RC app, there is a formal night. Day 2 is formal night, day 3 is tropical and I says 70’s night for day 4 but that says nothing other than casual for dinner.  The app does help with times and activities for your upcoming cruise, although I do not know how accurate the app is...you know Royal...lol

Yes, I do, but I do not mind at all. I'll be the short bald guy with his miniature medals. I always wear them after I got really dogged out by a retired SgtMaj for being "out of uniform" when we were in mufti.

On Majesty now.  Although we didn’t get to Cuba, we’re having a great time.  Formal night was on Day 2.  Not many people dressed  up and I saw no tuxes.  Tomorrow, Day 4, is Caribbean night.

Just booked for 9/16 sailing....wondering about breakfast. Do they serve breakfast in the MDR, or just the buffet?

Breakfast in the MDR and buffet every morning.

Thanks! I love eating in the MDR every chance I can get 🙂

They usually have a small buffet in the MDR too.  You can choose between buffet, ordering from the menu, or both.

Yay! That's my favorite! I  like to get some things off buffet, and order my pancakes/waffles from menu, so they're super fresh and steamy. 🙂 Do you know if we'll get lobster on our 5 day? I don't think so, but maybe you know for sure...?

Not sure about lobster on the 5-day, I've seen conflicting reports.

My daughter boarded this morning. At check in she was told any OBC would be in her room. Not there!!  She stood online at customer service and was told they don’t have her file and won’t have it until tonight bit it would get straightened out. In the meantime i called casino royale since she got the cruise through them and they said customer service would have the info for her!  🤯🤬

I just knew this would happen and i will be dealing with the same thing on Monday as i am on majesty on Monday.

I'm debating between a Western Caribbean cruise on either RCI 5 day $1,000 or Celebrity 7 day ($2581).  I think prices are higher closer to the holidays.

I have the impression that the Majesty of the Seas is old.  Cabin reviews show a few problems.  Is that fair, or has it been renovated recently?

I'm considering an Ocean View cabin on deck 9.  Celebrity would be one of their "Aqua" class cabins.

My partner and I are flexible, but we are foodies and want decent if not excellent food.  We drink but not enough to make a drink package worthwhile.

We had lobster on Day 5, the last night of our cruise.
