We got an email Monday that our upgrade was confirmed. Our credit card was charged the upgrade bid plus the difference in gratuities from verandah to suite. Our credit card got a refund for the gratuity difference today.  We still show the new cabin # in our reservation.  Has anyone else experienced this?

We had an excellent rate on the SV because we booked in 2021. It was $6,800 with port fees and taxes and was the old top All-In ($1,000 OBC, Gratuities, Premier Beverage, and Unlimited Stream Internet). Adding $2,340 ($2,270 bid plus extra suite gratuities) for a suite makes this just over $9,000. We're happy with this deal. This is all in US dollars.

Like the poster above me, we booked this cruise when everything was still included.  We paid 6900 for Aqua class with pre-paid grats, wifi, and classic beverage package. We also have 800OBC from TA and 350 from Celebrity.  I was happy with that.  If we didn't win the bid, It was no big deal.   

 

My wife is a picky eater, so Luminae is no big deal for her.  I enjoyed it.

Congrats on your successful bid! Maybe we'll be keeping your suite warm for you - we were assigned 9305.

 

We both booked these cruises back when the rates were much lower and All-In was an option. Originally had your cruise booked as the middle cruise of a B2B2B. We ended up cancelling the second and third legs and are going to do land touring instead.

Updated Feb 1 - after reading many comments on Moveup bidding and thinking it thru, decided to reduce bid on RS and not bid on EV and put that $ towards activities and fun on this cruise and a future vacation to Europe this summer.    There are still 15 CS available as of today - I upped that bid to fair.   Aqua SS is min bid - realizing I could have booked it directly for anything higher than that.  If we win Aqua SS it will save us a little on the Persian Garden passes for the week.    Heard the Sunset SS is really nice - upped that to strong.

Very happy that we got an upgrade.  We were upgraded to cabin 7141 which is a handicapped room.  Ship HAD been sold out but then one came open.  HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY even though it isi a handicapped unit and we don’t need the handicapped unit.

  • Our SS is booked with the old all inclusive (drinks, wifi, gratuities, OBC)
  • Thermal suite pass is $339 plus gratuities per person for the duration of sailing, so I factored in cost of thermal suite passes and and potential discount on a pre-booked spa treatment.  In my view Blu isn't adding value because when we sailed Beyond in a Sky Suite in 2022 we were able to eat breakfast in Blu each morning and I think we went for dinner too.  I assume we still can do that with this sailing, but if not c'est la vie.
  • Sunset Sky Suite far more valuable to us given length of cruises due to size of balcony and potential for a lounger or two (maybe). 
  • We discovered in 2022 that with the Beyond Sky Suite (at least on last sailing) keeping the balcony door open provided zero air flow to cabin so I'm not willing to spend more to upgrade.  Was the first ship we ever had that happen with.

Celebrity’s MoveUp Q&A shows the following:

 

Can I modify or cancel my offer after I submit it?

You may modify or cancel your offer up until 2 days prior to departure, provided that your offer has not already been accepted by Celebrity Cruises and provided your credit card has not been charged.
 

If the above is still accurate, why do all, but one of my MoveUp bids show “Expired” and the one that is still “Pending” can not be modified or cancelled?  The cruise’s departure is not until mid-April over two months away.  This bid has neither been accepted nor has my credit card been charged.  The fact that my one pending bid can’t be modified or that my other bids can’t also be modified seems to violate Celebrity’s above statement.

 

Am I misinterpreting the rules of this program?
