Hoopster95 Posted May 21, 2019 Author #426 Share Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Right now.... sailing out of Skagway. Twangster, if you have time lapse or even photos of this sailaway tonight, would love to see it ☺️ Edited May 21, 2019 by Hoopster95
Hoopster95 Posted May 21, 2019 Author #427 Share Posted May 21, 2019 For those of you wondering about site lines... being able to see all around you without obstruction top deck, it’s exactly like Radiance Class. Remember I mentioned earlier in the review there’s barely a forward view top deck due to the running track and Solarium roof top I’m Standing right beside Northstar

Hoopster95 Posted May 21, 2019 Author #429 Share Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Solarium at night.... the two person bed chairs are full of couples watching the Alaskan scenery go by through the huge glass windows that I feel makes Ovation a huge winner in cold weather climates. The front row of loungers in front of the bow also full with many in the hot tub. It’s currently 9:45pm. Note the bridge wings close at 6pm. Last photo is the view sitting in one of those 2 person bed chairs. Edited May 21, 2019 by Hoopster95
Hoopster95 Posted May 21, 2019 Author #430 Share Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) And tonight’s view from my “obstructed” balcony.... or is it? Ok... I guess it is 😉 Not too shabby unless you roll your eyes down a little bit. Edited May 21, 2019 by Hoopster95
drusierdmd Posted May 21, 2019 #431 Share Posted May 21, 2019 One more killer my wife captured. It was helpful having a second set of eyes...so much to see. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

ronpes Posted May 21, 2019 #433 Share Posted May 21, 2019 We are booked on Ovation for next year and started to read this thread. It is awesome and the pictures are incredible. Rare A&L_Ont Posted May 21, 2019 #434 Share Posted May 21, 2019 For those on board, just in case you haven’t done it yet, here is a pro tip. If you have cellular connection while on board shut your wifi off. Your device will bounce back and forth while trying to see if wifi is better than cellular, and we al know that answer.😉 While on the ship your upload times will increase if you do this. I was amazed at spots where you have cellular connection in the narrow channels of Alaska.
Rare A&L_Ont Posted May 21, 2019 #435 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Carcross Dessert is an amazing place. Was there in the summer of 1994 when I went on a Yukon Road Trip at the age of 20. Would love to go back one day.

Hoopster95 Posted May 21, 2019 Author #439 Share Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Great views from the Solarium... most chairs and chaises from any window front is occupied now Coming up to and gong through sizeable icebergs in the channel. Capt is Going about 2-3 knots I figure, slowly crawling along in a zig-zag fashion as we can here the bow thrusters turn in every once in a while Edited May 21, 2019 by Hoopster95
Hoopster95 Posted May 21, 2019 Author #440 Share Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) I’m a little worried... my last sailing up here on Rhapsody was in a September.... we were re-routed from Tracy Arm to Ensicott due to ice. We never got to Endicott either as Rhapsody had to stop short even before this point due to the amount of ice floe. We are supposed Tto be at Dawes glacier already however at this speed and from what I remember, it looks to me we have at least an hour to go if not more.... interestingly enough, as I prepared this post we’ve picked up speed... perhaps the we just hit a patch of larger deeper ice that Capt has to manoeuvre Through Edited May 21, 2019 by Hoopster95

CruiseKeeper Posted May 21, 2019 #444 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Beautiful scenery at Endicott watching from our balcony. You can hear all the waterfalls and the occasional ice cracking. Just spectacular! Then our neighbors woke up and came out on their balcony. They like their glacier and mountain views with music. They even sing along, mostly 70’s and cool jazz. I guess it could be worse.

I believe if I remember right, the area is kind of blocked off and only allowed up there when the North Star is in use.
AlanF65 Posted May 21, 2019 #448 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Spent most the morning on my balcony until the shipped turned at the glacier. Then went to 15 for more pics. This is from my balcony.
