Television programs in the cabins

We will be on the Crown Princess in October for a 10 day cruise. We like to relax in our cabin in the afternoon. What tv channels will be available? Will there be movie channels? What about movies to rent ? Prices for renting?

Live channels are MSNBC, BBC News, Fox news & ESPN International

Other programs and movies are available, but not live. I think the Crown has on demand TV. With on demand you can watch whatever is available from classics like Love Boat, to more recent programs like Big Bang Theory and recent movies. There are also Discovery Channel programs. If you do not have on demand then you can still watch the programs, but only when they are being shown.

No renting of movies, and no players.

Some passengers stream TV programs on their devices. You have to purchase the fast internet to do this.

Note, if you have a deluxe balcony (Royal Class ships only), mini suite or full suite then you will have a sofa in your cabin. Otherwise you have to sit on the bed or the desk chair.

Luckily you'll have the new on demand system by then. They only provide movies for free at this time and have a good selection. 

The news channels are limited but there are a few so you can keep up with everything.

I really enjoyed the movie selections on demand as well as the live news channels.

 

If you are in a suite that has two televisions, though, beware that even if both are tuned to different programs (our televisions were right next to each other and angled outwards), sometimes the remote aimed at one will control both.

When did the Crown get the on demand TV system installed?

On the Coral Princess a few weeks ago,   they kept playing the same episode of "The Love Boat"

 

It was the episode where Mr. Brady of the Brady Bunch had an affair with Hot Lips Hoolihan.

 

It seemed like they repeated it every day.
