amsterdam train ticket currency

we arrive from usa to Amsterdam airport our question is:

buying a train ticket at airport that goes to centrall station

besides a credit card what currency does the ticket

machine accept?

It’s a while since I have bought a ticket there, but the machines only used to take coins, not notes. 

 

You can can buy online so you don’t have to worry about it on arrival - ns.nl

Be careful with credit cards!  A machine ate my husband's at one kiosk; luckily we had more along.  Could happen anywhere, I guess.

so as I understand everyone's answers if I purchase tickets for the train online.then after we land and retrive

our luggage we take our printed tickets that we purchased online and board the train to centrall station

and someone will collect the printed e-mail tickets.after we board the train?

You need to scan the tickets at the yellow pole machines before entering the platform or the train. Also you need to check out again. After that the ticket will not be valid anymore, so you can throw them away..

We purchased a 3day pass - at the airport we will redeem that voucher for the 3 day transport pass.

Are you planning on taking a train from the airport into Amsterdam Centraal or the Airport Express Bus?

We are using it for the train in to Centraal Station and our hotel.
