Rio de Janerio private tour

Can any one recommend a private tour in Rio?

We have been before, so can skip the main sights.

We also need to be in the airport by 15:30 latest for an 18:00 departure

So ideally we are looking for a private tour from 09:00 with an airport drop off.

The cruise line does an airport drop off combined with a tour, however it doesn’t drop off until 17:00

You could talk to Marcelo at DoBrazilRight.   He arranges a lot of cruiseship tours and might have a tour guide available.

Thank you for the tip. I will check Marcelo out.

Dylandude....Marcelo at DOBRAZILRIGHT also seems quite reputable.  I just booked him for Recife,Brazil.

Oh my!

Thank you all for this information! (at the right time).

WE have also been to Rio before.

We'll be visiting , this time, on the  Viking Jupiter , from Barcelona, in November, 2019, but we will only have about 8 hours.

After seeing all the RIO sights before, this time, we'd just like to get off the ship in the morning

and just go to Copacabana or Ipanema Beach, before it gets too hot.

Then spend a casual lunch with a Caipirinha (k-eye-per-reen-yah) or two, before heading back to the boat.

We used to have an apt in Copa and our fave place for feijoada on Saturday and caipirinhas is The Deck, not very far south at all from the Copacabana Palace.

We have two days on ship in Rio before we sail.  So we're going to embark after lunch at The Deck.  The next day, Sunday, we'll leave the ship again to go to the Hippie Fair and see some old friends.

Oh, yes.  We never miss a Sunday there.  We have a number of paintings by a particular young artist.  Unfortunately he got hit and killed by a drunk driver one morning when he was riding his bike.  We'll be letting his family and friends know we'll be there.  And on a happier note, we always afterwards had lunch at a little place in Arpoador between Copa and Ipanema.  Frango milanesa and Antarctica beer.

Gus is great.

My comments from another thread:

If you decide to go with a tour guide/transportation we can highly recommend TourGuideGus (http://tourguidegus.com/ click towards the bottom of the page for English).  We were staying in Rio and had an absolutely fabulous full day tour with him in 2017 and he mentioned that he frequently picks up disembarking passengers, tours for the day, and then drops them off at the airport.  We also thought his driver was very good.  Gus' English is great and he does a fantastic job of sharing his love for Rio with his clients.  He also has a 5 star rating on TripAdvisor:  https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g303506-d4976222-Reviews-TourGuideGus-Rio_de_Janeiro_State_of_Rio_de_Janeiro.html#REVIEWS

Wonderful Memories, so we are willing to skip any sights..

We just want to know, how to get a simple ride from the cruise port,

and enjoy a  day at Lablon Beach, south of Ipanema,

and a recommendation for the name of a beachfront bar for a few ciparinians

before heading back to the ship, before 5PM .

We have celebratory lunches in Leblon but away from the beach.  But here's a link that mentions a couple:

https://theculturetrip.com/south-america/brazil/articles/the-best-beach-bars-in-rio-de-janeiro/

On Saturdays we always have feijoada at The Deck, also mentioned, in the link.  It's right across from the beach.

PS:  We consider more than two caipirinhas to be dangerous...in a good way 🙂

Thanks for the link

Maybe an old quote...

Caipirinhas...

"The first one is good, the second one is better,

the third one, you don't remember."

LOL

To my point,

just looking for a reliable transport back to the ship.

I tried to connect to "The  Deck", but it seems their website is not working.

Any help?

Yeah,  I couldn't either.  I'll keep trying and post back.

Here's our favorite guy there.  Jose' and the J's are pronounced in Portuguese.
