Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted July 18, 2019 Author #331 Share Posted July 18, 2019 Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in Western Europe In the distance downstream we could see another waterfall It was a bumpy drive and about a 20 minute hike We could see cars and people on the other side

Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted July 18, 2019 Author #336 Share Posted July 18, 2019 Akureyri has a rugged natural beauty of waterfalls , volcanoes , snow capped mountains and lots of wide open spaces . There is a lot of driving and riding to do it all . We have to say that it was our most frustrating tour on this leg of the cruise . We had e-mailed a request for an early start since we were coming into the port early . We never heard back and did not leave until after several buses had left . Requests for photo stops were met with " We will stop on the way back " , but animals and good sunlight don't wait around until later . As a result of the delayed start , the buses were at Godafoss first , and we skipped the waterfall with good lighting ( light at your back or side ) and reversed the waterfalls ,thus having poor lighting at both instead of good . The reason we do private tours is to avoid the crowds and stop and take photos. I would prefer to take photos with good light and a crowd vs uncrowded with bright lights in my face and camera . We did contact the company with these concerns, but have yet to hear back.

sevenseasnomad Posted July 19, 2019 #339 Share Posted July 19, 2019 Let's hope BS Tours accommodate you better than the last tour guide! LOL. I understand your concerns about the tour guide because we book private tours or small group tours for the express purpose of avoiding those tour buses and getting an early start if possible as well as being able to stop on "our terms" if it doesn't pose a danger, which it didn't sound like this was a reason for your guide not to stop at your request. Your pictures and video were great though, so don't stress too much about it.

Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted July 19, 2019 Author #345 Share Posted July 19, 2019 There were humpbacks in the water And the birds showed us where they were The other ship was approaching them and us at a high rate of speed And while we didn't see them as close as we did in Antarctica , we still felt blessed to see them at dinner time
Rare *Miss G* Posted July 19, 2019 #346 Share Posted July 19, 2019 Going to try this again. @scubacruiserx2, do you think you could see your way to changing your font back to normal? Those of us on iPads cannot read your text as it converts it to an unreadable script.
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted July 19, 2019 Author #347 Share Posted July 19, 2019 (edited) Even though I prefer the font you have trouble reading, chances are, if you would have used the "Magic Word", your wish would have already been granted. That is, "if you can see your way" to ask nicely. Edited July 19, 2019 by scubacruiserx2 Font

I appreciate you changing your preference. Thank you. For you Cat no problem . Cosmic Sans MS font is the most attractive font to us on desktop , laptop and my wife's ipad where it is a beautiful cursive . I think that our grand kids are longer taught the cursive penmanship that we learned in elementary school .
