This is the type of boat that we were on and it's a good reference for scale in the second photo as the blue speck in the center of the photo

Almost 2000 feet up is the Pulpit Rock

I must say that we preferred some of the other scenery like Hengjanefossen with a 400 meter fall.

On this video we approach the waterfall very close

When we were in Alesund on the Zuiderdam we went to Geirangerfjord but the first time that we visited it we went some people that we met on Cruise Critic to Trollstigen . Diane and Larry had rented a car and we were happy to split the cost and buy the gas . We walked from the ship to pick it up near here .

Our first stop was an overview of the city and the ship

Diane is a photographer so we stopped when we saw something we liked

Oddly enough, when one is sharing pictures and info because of his or her love of travel, it comes across - because we see the personality behind the info and pictures.

When one is being compensated, the motivation is different and the results often lack the personality of the author. Almost sterile, if you will.

To be certain different people have different motivations . We could really see the same thing in the Fire service when you worked and lived with people 24 /7 .

We just got some good news from our TA that she and her family will be seeing the penguins in SA over the Christmas vacation this year . She was also able to secure the cabin that we wanted on HAL for the West bound leg of our next years Atlantic double crossing .

There were not many cars when we got to Trollstigen in September of 2013 . There was a new visitor center that was completed there in 2012 . Notice the houses on the left as we would see them later .

Oh yes, I am enjoying your reports, pictures and videos.  Brings back memories from when we did land vacations all over Europe.

Thank you so much . We have not had that privilege except once with 10 days in Ireland , 10 days in Munich and 10 days in Saint Petersburg .
