Though it w as sleeper seats, I could not sleep even a tiny bit Service and amentiies were nice but IMO, overall, ' not as great as it might have been Thai Air is pretty wonderful, first class ... We did like that that there were only 20 seats in the hump of the BA 747 . Here's some photos of the Virgin Atlantic Dreamliner 787 . Premium middle class First class Taxi and lift off The seat folds flat and is 6' 6'' . At LHR they have a private entrance to Virgin Atlantic where you are dropped at . They also have a private line for VA before the club . We really like their club in London .

Krazy Kruizers Posted August 22, 2019 #705 Share Posted August 22, 2019 Thanks for the pictures of your cabin. We have flown first class on British Airways -- very nice and great food. But the best food we had was on the Concord.

In the 'day' for trans atlantic, firs t class on TWA, they used to roll a cart and slice chateau briand beside each seat It was delicious and all the sides; desert-wine- champagne We did that so many times..My late DH really enjoyed it AllItalia used to open big tins of caviar for those who wished to indulge. Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted August 24, 2019 Author #709 Share Posted August 24, 2019 Don't you love stories with a happy ending ? When I logged in with HAL to look at shore excursions our booking was missing . A frantic call to the TA got our room back with $800 OBC , a dinner at the Pinnacle and free internet . 😊

We have enjoyed several flights with no issues . They use a 3 man crew and we trust that they will use good judgement . One of our guides was a retired Russian Colonel who when we offered to take him along , refused . I underwent the Air Rescue training in the Dade County Fire Department and they have never had a crash in their 30 year history , so we felt safe . However , Hurricane Andrew did some damage to several of the helicopters on the ground . We were probably more concerned one time when I woke up from a nap in our St. Petersburg apartment and my wife told me that there were tanks outside . The room is between the elevator and stairs mid ship on the Port side . We did hear noise from the Lido deck above at night and were told that the dish washing was above us . There is plenty of storage behind the mirrored doors . The coffee machine was nice and the balcony was very nice . 1 Between the bedroom and the bathroom was a vanity and closets behind the mirrors Our room had the elevators to the left and the stairs to the right in this photo

I am just North of Daytona. Holding off putting up our shutters until we know for sure. We had prepared to evacuate for Irma, and then she changed course at the last minute. We had lots of rain and some flooding, but were spared the worst. Still better than snow and ice!🙃

We are selectively shuttered with the hard to do shutters in place until the season passes in about 2 months . I don't miss having to go to work in Miami anymore and can just take care of the house here . But we sure miss the kids help since we're not getting any younger ! It's hard for me to relate to the snow and ice since we only visit but my wife remembers . My first hurricane was Hurricane King when I was just 2 weeks old and it struck Miami where I was born . Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted September 1, 2019 Author #724 Share Posted September 1, 2019 While we're all having dinner tonight A Cat 5 hurricane with 185 MPH is just off our coast destroying the Bahamas . We expect to get the effects beginning tonight for a couple of days . Power loss to us means no running water since we are on a well and septic . No Air conditioning , internet , or home phone . Perhaps it was because I worked in a shelter in Miami during Andrew and saw so much suffering , death and property loss for years in the aftermath that I don't make jokes or smile when people are hurting or going through it . I just pray and try to help ourselves and others when we can .
