Enjoying bar entertainment without a purchase?

If My husband and I want to hang out and listen to musicians at the various bar venues, can we order a free iced tea or just sit at a table and neither of us order anything? (We are taking the Norwegian Jewel.). Thanks in advance.

You can sit anywhere on the jewel without a purchase except for the extra charge restaurants.

True!  A ship is  not like land, where you have to be a certain age to be in a bar, or you must order something.  ALL public areas are available to everyone, except areas designated "Adult only", like some pools areas or the casino.

When we were on NCL Gem our friend would always order a glass of water with a lemon in it and they provided it with a smile. But as stated if you want to sit there you certainly may.

Ooh, that sounds perfect. Did someone else at the table order a paid drink?  I just don’t want to be embarrassed.

She would order it when she was by herself, so it varied. Your more apt to have an issue with a fellow passenger if the venue is crowded, along the lines of "there are no seats so you should give up your seat to someone who has a drink" because people can be like that but the crew doesn't care.

My husband and I usually listen to musicians in the evening and often do not order drinks.  It has never been an issue with either crew or passengers for us.

My husband and I go to the bars almost every night to listen to music. Sometimes we bring a glass of wine down from our room and sometimes we just order water. Never had a problem. You play plenty for the cruise and tips at the end. You do not have to feel uncomfortable enjoying the amenities.
