Rare flarad Posted July 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2019 We fly to NY on Saturday and Escape in Sunday. Ok NCL cruisers, what would you do? What I mean is, if you were boarding the Escape this week what would be the first thing you would do and what is your “Not to be missed,” thing to do or experience all week on the Escape? Ready, set, go...

Rare BirdTravels Posted July 4, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 4, 2019 The very first thing we do is go and book shows and fix dining around the shows. Then it's off to Taste MDR or Savor MDR for lunch. Here's a chronicle of what we did on the Escape in March https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2650410-norwegian-escape-to-florida-and-the-bahamas/
AKR2011 Posted July 4, 2019 #7 Share Posted July 4, 2019 Here are my suggestions, which all made my trip on the Escape for 14 days last fall AMAZING: - Make friends with the staff at Savor and eat there often. They are fabulous! - Pack and play board/card games. This may sound silly, but it's one of our favorite traditions. Play at District Brew House with some beers and good music, or during the day at the bar in the casino - great tables. - Drink plenty of mojitos at Sugarcane. - Play Trivia, but get there early so you don't have to sit in an uncomfortable folding chair. - See Choir of Man - Enjoy Howl at the Moon, drink lots, and then eat a late night snack at O'Sheehan's - Plan awesome shore excursions Here was my review (not super long but does have some photos):

The next, if we haven't already we make our dinner reservations as well as show reservations if we intend on going to any shows. Then it's to the cabin, hopefully luggage has arrived and we can unpack. This gives us 7 days of freedom and totally relaxing vacation
Rare Nclgetawaymenhoney Posted July 4, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 4, 2019 Do not miss sail away topside, seeing the Statue of Liberty up close is amazing!

Do you think they’ll be showing it?

Do you think they’ll be showing it? They'll likely be showing it on the big screen by the pool. First thing we do is any business (Vibe if we want it, restaurant reservation adjustments), drinks from the bar, lunch at MDR if we're hungry and another drink for sail away which is gorgeous out of NY. Pincho's is not to be missed IMO.

Rare JGmf Posted July 4, 2019 #14 Share Posted July 4, 2019 "Not to be missed?" For me, it was parking myself on the Waterfront, at the 5 O'Clock Somewhere bar, with a drink and an unobstructed view of the ocean. This spot is kind of a hidden gem.
Paul Bogle Posted July 4, 2019 #15 Share Posted July 4, 2019 O'Sheehans usually has Sport 24 running continuously. On Sunday during their schedule shows Irish Open golf finishing up, then Premier League soccer review of the 2018/2019 season. https://sport24-tv.com/schedule?start=1562454000 My guess is the women's final will be on in the Atrium, Spice H2O and The District Brew House.
