4cats,1dog Posted July 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2019 Looking to book RCL New England end of September 2020. Where is the best place to stay in Boston. Nice but not too pricey. Appreciate any info. Lynn
princeton123211 Posted July 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2019 Thats a really broad question-- there are hundreds of hotels in Boston. You have everything from every major brand-- a few unique ones like the Fairmont Copley Plaza, Liberty Hotel-- and a whole bunch of budget options. Boston tends to be on the pricier side-- $250-400 is normal for a 4-5 star hotel. $150-300 is standard for a midrange hotel-- just depends on when. 138east Posted July 9, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2019 What exact date would you need a hotel room? 2 people? Target budget? Sightseeing objectives? Centrally located hotels between $150-250 will be hard to come by unless you find a deal on Hotwire where all the hotels in the Seaport District are totally acceptable. Post back with more information - it will all depend on your exact dates.
4cats,1dog Posted July 10, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted July 10, 2019 I live in Ft. Lauderdale area _ there are hotels downtown by the Cruise port, that offer transportation to the ship. Is there a Marriott or Hilton like hotel that offer that service? When we were in Vancouver, we stayed at the Pan Pacific where the Cruise ship parked. That was an awesome place. They also offered a cruise discount package.
1025cruise Posted July 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2019 No. The hotels that offer cruise shuttles aren't necessarily where one would recommend staying. Yes, Boston hotels can be expensive. If you are just looking for a place to sleep, look in the Seaport area. If you want to do some sight seeing, you might want to be downtown. 138east Posted July 11, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2019 Ditto to that. Any hotel that offers a Cruiseport shuttle for Boston has to be closely scrutinized. Basically they are 2.5* hotels. None of them are close to the Cruiseport or any of the tourist areas and we don’t recommend them, but we understand that for travelers on a tight budget these hotels might be the only option. Please provide the information requested above. Fall is high season in Boston with many college activities and the exact date is important. Since you’re way out on date, the strategy would be to book a refundable reservation as soon as they become available and monitor prices for deals. ed01106 Posted July 17, 2019 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2019 Hotels in Boston are very expensive. Something to consider, if you aren't planning to site see. Just fly in, crash at the hotel, and the next day head to the pier......and are looking to save money..... Flights to TF Green are often considerably less expensive than flights to Logan. So fly to PVD. Spend the night in RI. Take commuter rail into Boston and the "T" to the pier. This isn't the most convenient way to do it. But will save you quite a bit of coin. bbqbears Posted July 29, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 29, 2019 We are staying at the Residence Inn (Marriott) Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf. Everything is pricey in Boston, but I booked this through Hotwire and got a $221/night rate (+ tax). On that note, can anyone tell me approximately $ for a taxi from Logan to this location? I'm told it's about 20" away.
Nitemare Posted July 29, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Depends on time of day and day of week. Could be $20, could be $
