Checking In and Bids

Stupid question that I didn't think of. 

 

Do you need to check in before you can bid (assuming you get invited to bid)?

Yes.  You need to "log in" to your MY NCL.  There may or not be a banner inviting you to bid.  We didn't have one so had to call NCL and they applied it.  BTW we did win our bid.

NO, I already bid on my cruise upgrades weeks ago but only did online check in for edocs for my cruise today ......

You have to log in ncl.com, but you do not have to have completed online check in before you can bid for an upgrade.

Thanks everyone :) Okay look for a banner after logging in, but no email to bid yes? I probably won't get one since I booked 8 days before the cruise, but you never know!

If you just booked it won't show up for 2 to 3 days, plus you must book thru ncl or a ta that participates, in order to receive the notice

Unless it's been changed, you do not need to completed OLCI or log into MyNCL account, if you received the email invite to bit - the URL link will take you directly to the booking page on what you can bid for.  

 

Bid smartly and if there is a price drop after final payment/penalty - you can & should call in to see you can get a free upgrade and/or OBC (25% of the difference in fares) ... there are threads discussing this here.  Good luck !

You should check in the day you book. No reason not to. Then you don’t have to second guess everything.

Actually there is a reason to wait to check in.  It may be a bit paranoid, but why leave all that info like your credit card stuff and your passport info out there on the web more than necessary?
