I think it was at Grand Cayman. When we went to get on the tender, which was difficult with the ramp going up and at a steep angle to get on. We were told that they are using the old standard ones because Celebrities did not hold enough people. We were very disappointed. maybe they only have them at there island and he told us incorrectly. The one I was hoping to get on were the new ones they show in there propaganda video. They brag on how nice and comfortable they are. They sure look it. Anyone have any luck getting on those? If so, at what port? They look super and very big. Just no second deck.

We were  on one of the new Celebrity tenders going back to the ship from Grand Cayman.  And yes, it was very comfortable!  Glad we had the opportunity to be on one.  If I recall correctly, they only used the old tenders from Grand Cayman to take everyone from the ship to shore, but on the way from shore back to the ship they were using both GCM tenders as well as Celebrity's (at least on our cruise on the Edge).

Personally I'd wait for a celebrity tender just for the experience

Exactly what we did! As Elite we are lucky enough to get priority tendering. Elizabeth (Captains Club hostess) escorted us to the tender point and I spotted that just behind the full tender (there were two spots for us) was a new one. I checked with the officers if it was ok to wait and they just laughed. Got some great photos with our favourite Magic Carpet bartman whilst waiting!
