caribophile Posted September 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2019 Does the Lido on the Nieuw Statendam have an al fresco dining area?
Daisyloo Posted September 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2019 Yes, out the back of the Lido buffet.
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2019 Just remember that you will not have a tray to carry various dishes out to the aft area.
sevenseasnomad Posted September 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2019 You can also sit at one of the tables near the main pool. As for not having a tray, do what we did. I bought some inexpensive trays, packed them between T-shirts and used them to carry multiple dishes to our chosen table by the pool (either aft or amid-ship). It saves a lot of walking, and most people commented on what a good idea it was.

Nice for all sorts of stuff like taking steaks out to the grill or taking drinks out to the patio when we have guests. Think I will pack one for our next cruise to help in the Lido and getting stuff back to the cabin. 🥂

fatcat04 Posted September 8, 2019 #8 Share Posted September 8, 2019 Here are the ones I ordered. I use them for all sorts of kitchen tasks. Very sturdy but light and easy to clean. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0037XDIY2/ref=cm_sw_r_other_taa_B6rDDbQ3PKZYP 3
taxmantoo Posted September 8, 2019 #9 Share Posted September 8, 2019 A bit off topic maybe, but the Tamarind on the Nieuw Statendam also has an al fresco dining area. It is usually only open when the ship has a late night port departure.

Rare Vict0riann Posted September 8, 2019 #12 Share Posted September 8, 2019 There is also a round metal tray in your room, under the ice bucket and glasses.
oakridger Posted September 10, 2019 #13 Share Posted September 10, 2019 As a former waitress I suggest you purchase trays with a cork or other non-slip surface on the inside. The cork keeps the items from sliding around when you carry the tray! If your tray doesn't have that, then you could just buy the non-slip material and glue it onto the tray. https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Serving-Commercial-Restaurant-Carrying/dp/B07QF9RRPW/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?hvadid=77790500408576&hvbmt=bb&hvdev=c&hvqmt=b&keywords=non+slip+serving+tray&qid=1568089255&refinements=p_72%3A2661618011&rnid=2661617011&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFHSE1BR1BQRzhWTVMmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA1NjM1NTMzR1JLNkVNOEhEUVY4JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA5OTgwMDdNU09VRjNaUFpPR0gmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl ~Nancy

Mind you, if you order from the Dive In, that is served on a small metallic tray.

I'll start browsing now for our holiday cruise. Edited September 10, 2019 by rucrazy Completed my response
