That's true 1PM would be better to avoid congestion.

I just hate hanging around a hotel after 11AM checkout.

Every time we ask for a late check out, it's been granted.  So we leave at noon.

Yes, there are stores open on Saturday.

It's really going to depend. As someone who practically lives out of hotels, I have been denied a late checkout many times, from both chains and independent hotels. It just really depends on capacity, staffing (for housekeeping), any elites who may have priority for late checkout, etc. But yeah, I get denied a late checkout at least a few times each year.

Bob thank you, but was thinking Sunday before we board, if not then we might see if we find something for the family on Saturday.

I know that Walgreens and CVS are open on Sunday.    Not sure about other stores.

Thank you, I am sure we will want to shop a little so will see which day works the best for us. The Day between our two cruises we will take a Rain Forest Tour.

We have stayed at the Marriott (Stellaris Casino) and loved it.  It’s oceanfront, the staff are friendly, the rooms are nice, the view is beautiful, the pool is fun and the food there is good.  We took a taxi to the pier, and it was not a long trip.  We would stay there again.

While we won't be there before our cruise, daughter & I have a Day Pass after our b2b since our return flights are not until 1 AM and hers at 1:30 AM. and looking forward to spending the day there.

Holy smokes Gay! Are you going to nap at the airport? I wouldn't be able to stay up that late to catch a flight. :classic_tongue:

Hey there, no daughter & I will spend the day at the Marriott enjoy the pool or whatever, get some dinner before heading to airport later. Flights out of SJ back to West Coast are terrible. Only flight afternoon of cruise left me with a 40 min connection in Newark, on United  everything else was way to high or would have to spend the night and another $200  No Way doing that. AA wanted $1255 R/T. ended up with United's 1 AM FLT( Monday March 23rd ) via Newark & 1:25 min stop then Denver to PSP.

Has anyone stayed At Courtyard Isla Verde Beach?

we are staying pre cruise in January, thought I had seen some good reviews but now I’m not hearing anything.

We stayed at that Courtyard maybe six years ago and long before the hurricane.  It was nice, not luxurious by any means.  The “Courtyard” brand felt appropriate.

Another vote for Hyatt House.  Nothing better than waking up and seeing your ship from your window.

Agree...we are booked at Sheraton near the pier.  Picked window view room that looks onto the port area.  🙂

BTW:  Love...love your avatar picture.  Sooo cute!  🙂

Did you pre arrange the Taxi or did the Hotel call one up for you.

Just ask the front desk at the Decanter to call one for you. Will be there in minutes.

We were there in July and stayed at DREAMS MIRAMAR. It is no frills, but clean and convenient with extremely friendly staff. They also gave us a free ride (a shuttle? More like a pick up truck ) to the pier at our preferred time. I highly recommend them.
