cruisegirl1976 Posted October 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2019 It all depends when the ship lets people off.. could be 730, or earlier..
Corby114 Posted October 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2019 If the ship arrives on time which usually is 5:30AM to 6:00AM the first passengers who carry off their own luggage should be able to leave by 7:00AM to 7:30AM. If your looking at an early flight from MIA the earliest I would be comfortable taking is around 11:00AM. MIA is an extremely busy International Airport, especially on weekends.d
furryfamily5 Posted October 4, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2019 thoughts on getting to FLL for 11:30 flight to Buffalo from Miami port? Pushing it or - doable? thanks!!!
CruiserBruce Posted October 4, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 4, 2019 Doable, but you need to move with a purpose. Be an early walkoff, carrying your bags, and have your transport waiting. Remember thousands will be coming over from Port Everglades as well.
Rare crewsweeper Posted October 4, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 4, 2019 If your cruise line's terminal has facial recognition through customs, and you are self assist in debarkation, you can probably make this unless there's a delay due to customs, health or CG inspection. Stay away from shuttles. They wait to be filled up before leaving. And unless you're grabbing a taxi, just be aware the Uber or Lyft pickups can be confusing around this time. So do call as early as possible and communicate with the driver so he/she can find you.
CruiserBruce Posted October 4, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 4, 2019 Facial recognition is for Immigration. Customs is about property, not people.

Pushing it or - doable? thanks!!! For an 11:30 flight you need to be at FLL NLT 10:00, and 9:30 is better given they typical TSA chaos. With the ride from POM to FLL taking about 45 or so minutes that translates into off the ship, with bags, and clear of customs/immigration not later than about 8:30. Uber or Lyft will get you from POM to FLL for about $35-40, and a cab will be closer to $70+ -- not sure you have time to wait for a shared shuttle ($15 per person) to fill up. Good luck!
