bnbeyer Posted November 2, 2019 #351 Share Posted November 2, 2019 I'm heading to Boston for a business trip later in November. If there's any time, that looks like a place I would enjoy visiting. Thanks for all the pictures!

And I can even drive up there! Fantastic review. Thanks so much! Love what you are doing, and the pics are real sellers! Thanks for reading and for your kind words! That's the effect we're looking for. Enjoy your road trip to New England & Canada! 9 hours ago, jimbo5544 said: Again, great review Jeff, wonderful detail on the ports! Rare Jamman54 Posted November 2, 2019 Author #353 Share Posted November 2, 2019 We have arrived at my Husband Daycare facility here in Boston. This is my 2nd favorite facility, topped only by Hooters! Now for those that don’t know, there are two Cheers locations in Boston. The original one is up on Beacon Hill, and the outside shots for the television show were taken there. The second location was built at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, which is the location we are visiting today. The bar is an exact replica of the one seen on the set of the television show….. We got there just as it opened, so Patti was able to get these shots before the crowds moved in..... The Cheers Pub is downstairs, and where the restrooms are. (Always important to know)….. Of course they have a gift shop….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 2, 2019 Author #354 Share Posted November 2, 2019 If you look around you will see that most of the gang is here….. Here are the beers served on tap….. Of course since Norm is always here, he has his own brew….. Our first drinks have arrived….. It’s a thing of beauty…..the beer, not me! Since we skipped breakfast this morning to go on the early tour, we need a little lunch. Here are the menus….. Patti had the chicken fingers, and I had the Oktober Fest special which was knockwurst & bratwurst withpeppers & onions. It also came with red bliss potato salad. It was all very good! To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 2, 2019 Author #355 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Joining us down at our end of the bar were Richard, Ashley, and Doug….. Patti heads out to go exploring Quincy Market. There is a North Market, and a South Market….. Faneuil Hall itself is getting a makeover..... Patti stops at a shop that sells signs….. This is Dick’s Last Resort. This place is good for a few laughs….. To be continued…..

Rare Jamman54 Posted November 2, 2019 Author #358 Share Posted November 2, 2019 This street performer is juggling knives. I wouldn’t get too close! Patti stops back at Cheers to collect me, so after one more beer we head to the designated pick up place to catch the trolley back to the ship….. Here are some views from the trolley as we head back to the ship….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 2, 2019 Author #359 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Here are some more views from the trolley….. We pass the Boston Fire Museum….. We have made it back to the pier. I guess they forgot to make a sign for the Sunrise! There is a short line to get back on the ship….. We were back in our cabin around 2:30 pm. Here is today’s towel animal….. Jim and Monika Posted November 3, 2019 #362 Share Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) Just catching up, Great review Jeff as always. The customs event in Portland, took me back several years when we routinely had to do this in St. Thomas. But, it was a much bigger inconvenience because we had to wait until most of the passengers went through before getting off. And of course, the passenger counts back then were around 2,000 or less. Rare Jamman54 Posted November 3, 2019 Author #364 Share Posted November 3, 2019 We watched our sail away from Boston out on the open decks….. Here are a few views of Boston as we prepared to sail away….. We had a good view of the jets coming in for a landing at the nearby Logan International Airport….. The Carnival Sunrise has pushed away from the pier….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 3, 2019 Author #365 Share Posted November 3, 2019 There isn’t enough room to turn around here so the Carnival Sunrise will have to back all the way out before spinning around to head out to sea. As we back out we pass the Scenic Eclipse….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 4, 2019 Author #366 Share Posted November 4, 2019 Our buddy Yoki finds us and brings Patti and me drinks to enjoy while we sail away….. Rare Jamman54 Posted November 4, 2019 Author #369 Share Posted November 4, 2019 We head back to the cabin to get ready for dinner on this, the second Cruise Elegant Night. Rare Jamman54 Posted November 4, 2019 Author #370 Share Posted November 4, 2019 Our bread has arrived. Yummy! I’m drinking Peroni, an Italian beer….. Here we are at Cucina del Capitano….. The Chef’s are hard at work….. We both start off with a Caesar salad….. We both share the arancini (rice balls), and Nonna’s meatballs….. For our mains, Patti has the pasta and shrimp, and I have the chicken parmigiana….. Patti and I also shared an order of the fingerling potatoes….. Here is the dessert menu….. Patti had the Italian apple pie, and I had the chocolate biscotti….. All the food was very good, and well worth the $15 up charge. As we left Patti posed by the Cucina sign….. Afterwards, Patti went back to the cabin to watch a movie and get a jump on her packing. I went to the Sports Bar to hang out with Stefan for a while….. Coming up next: The beginning of the end…..

The apple pie sounded really good, and I suspect my DH would have opted for the biscotti too 🙂 I'll definitely have to give Cucina a go if we sail on a ship with it again. NCTribeFan Posted November 4, 2019 #372 Share Posted November 4, 2019 Just wanted to let you know that I went to Mason's Famous Lobster Roll place on Friday night in Charleston before we sailed Saturday, 10/26. It was really, really good! The roll wasn't huge but there was so much lobster meat in it that it was very filling (especially with a draft to wash it down). I actually considered getting one to take back to the hotel but stopped myself. Discovered there's one not far from me in Raleigh!

I got the Classic (chilled with mayo & lemon butter). Next time I may go for the one with the tail on top, the Bar Harbor! Thank goodness the one in Raleigh is far enough away that I won't be tempted too often!
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 5, 2019 Author #375 Share Posted November 5, 2019 Day # 13 - 8/28/19 - Our final day at sea. Raeden drops by to plug the last day sales at the Fun Shops….. Patti and I started attending the Morning Show on our Hawaii cruise, and we enjoy these shows very much. It’s a great way to meet and interact with your CD and Fun Squad members and get to know them. Here they are signing off…..
