How does someone determine old or new locks?

I have been on the Carnival Freedom to the Panama Canal. We went through the new locks. I would like to go back but through the old locks. Is there a way to determine from Carnival's website what locks a cruise ship will be using?  I am now considering the Carnival Radiance (redone Victory) in 2021 or 2022 but not sure what locks it will be using.

For Carnival, only the Fantasy class and Spirit class will fit through the old locks.  Radiance will also use the new locks.  EM

We recently used the old locks on the Carnival Miracle.  It was an awesome experience.

 How do you know which locks you are going through?  We are on Vision of the Seas, November 2019 and I can't see where it identifies old locks or new locks.  Thanks for any replies!  Liz

Vision will use the old locks.  Here she is in the Gtun locks last Sunday.

What about Celebrity Summit?  Will be sailing in November 2020.

If the ship fits in the old locks (over 90% of cruise ships do) they will use the old locks. Summit fits in the old locks.

I know this is an old thread but does anyone know which canal the Emerald Princess goes through, old or new? Haven't been able to tell by looking at a few websites.

Emerald will use the new locks. She is too wide for the old locks.

You could have Google searched....that is what I did to determine Emerald Princess is too big.

The maximum dimensions for a ship (passenger or container) to use the original locks are: 965x106.  You have to be careful while looking up any particular ship, not so much on the length as that is usually a straightforward measurement.  Where uncertainty enters your search is there isn't truly a standard reporting of the ship's beam.  Many times you will find the beam that is  reported is the widest measurement possible, such as the bridge wings.  This of course doesn't provide the beam of the vessel at the waterline which is what the Canal uses.
