Scubadoc Posted October 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2019 We are booked on the 10 day Alaska cruise on the star out of San Francisco next July. The confirmation from our travel agent says that we have E733 an Aft Vista suite. S6 category. We have been in that same cabin on the crown and loved it. However on my cruise planner on the princess website it says that we are in C4 20 a midship penthouse suite. S4 category. I was about to get in touch with our travel agent and complain to her but I'm wondering if this is considered an upgrade or why this may have happened. I can't see much difference in the two cabins except the location. Does anyone have opinions on which cabin would be better for an Alaskan cruise? 24639 Posted October 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2019 I would fight for the aft suite unless you are super sensitive to the sea conditions. Princess may think the midship location is an upgrade but nothing beats the wraparound view of that aft location. Personally, I like the extra balcony space. We did a Antarctica from E732 which is the opposite suite.
AF-1 Posted October 27, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2019 other than aft balcony which is larger; what is main difference between the two suites?
Scubadoc Posted October 27, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted October 27, 2019 Looks like E733 still available. But so is Caribe 751. On the deck plans it looks like Caribe Vista suites are a little larger than the ones on Emerald deck. Does anyone know if that's correct? I know the dolphin deck Vista suites are larger but those are both taken.
Colo Cruiser Posted October 27, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2019 If it’s under any pool area it is a downgrade, Get the Vista back! Mark it no upgrade.
Scubadoc Posted October 28, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted October 28, 2019 Thanx! Caribe or Emerald vistas?
Papa Yoda Posted October 28, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 28, 2019 I don't care for the Caribe Vistas, 2 beams crowd an already narrow balcony. Vs. 1 beam and corner on D and E even though E is narrow too.

skynight Posted October 28, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 28, 2019 The interior cabin size is very close to being the same. C420 will have a 9' x 18' balcony. E733 has a much narrower balcony.
Papa Yoda Posted October 29, 2019 #10 Share Posted October 29, 2019 (edited) Right - C420 being a midship Penthouse has a larger overall balcony, but it's only partially covered. Aft Vistas are covered. The sheltered balconies of the aft suites can be used almost all the time, even underway, the sides not so much. Scubadoc Posted October 29, 2019 Author #12 Share Posted October 29, 2019 Very helpful. We have been in E733 on the crown and loved it. it looks very similar to the same character on the story but I can't tell if it's identical. We definitely want a covered balcony
Papa Yoda Posted October 29, 2019 #13 Share Posted October 29, 2019 It'll be the same. Hope you get it and have a great cruise!
